Attackers took away injured man: DIG Operations

KARACHI: Five policemen, including a sub inspector were killed and another injured when unknown attackers stormed into Gulistan-e-Jauhar police station and targeted policemen, here early Sunday morning, sources said on Sunday.

According to Geo TV, around ten people stormed into Gulistan-e-Jauhar police station near Karachi Airport and opened fire killing five policemen including one sub-inspector while one policeman was also injured.

It was earlier told that an attacker was also killed but later, DIG (Operations) Karachi Tariq Jamil said that injured man was taken by attackers who managed to flee.

He said Sub Inspector Umeed Ali; police personnel Sarfaraz Ali, Muhammad Ismail, Muhammad Ishfaq and George were killed, while the injured policeman was Muhammad Hussain.

The dead bodies have been taken to Jinnah Hospital. The DIG said it was premature to say who the civilian killed in firing.

IG Sindh Syed Kamal Shah, DIG Karachi and Rangers officials arrived soon after the incident and further investigations are underway.

KARACHI: Five policemen, including a sub inspector were killed and another injured when more than ten unknown attackers stormed into Gulistan-e-Jauhar police station and opined fire at policemen, here early Sunday morning, sources said on Sunday.

One of the attackers was also killed in retaliatory firing by police. One sub-inspector and other four police officials died on the spot.
