What do you guys do, when you want something really badly…and pray hard for it but your prayers don’t get answered??? (yes this is the situation i am in these days) spare me the lectures on patience etc please…

There is a simple logic to this situation of yours.
Your approach is completely wrong. Firstly you need to understand Allah knows what is best for you. Secondly Allah knows best what you require and when you require.
When you pray and your attitude is that Allah give me this give me this..I really want it then its like just not the correct approach. You should be praying Allah if this is good for me then make it happen if not then you know what is best for me.
For example you may be praying that you need money and you are keep on praying but you are not getting any....this doesnt mean that your prayers are not being heard. Your Allah is still alive and listen to prayers as he used to listen to them before but only he knows better that this money is any good for you or not. And infact Allah may actually listen to your prayers and answer them in the best way possible.
Lastly you need to have absolute Imaan that now you have prayed Allah will help and even what I want does not happen then it may be good for me.

Give your best in achieving what you want to achieve and pray at the same time. If what you're trying to achieve is in favor of yours, Allah will never let waste your genuine attempts in getting it. Do not question Allah, He knows alone what is best for you. Give your best shot and leave it for Allah to be approved.
