Another Minority Killing in Pakistan

LONDON, August 8 /PRNewswire/ – It is with great sadness that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat confirms that another member of its community, Rana Ata-ul Karim (36) was killed on 6 August 2009 in Multan, Pakistan. He was murdered simply for being an Ahmadi. Mr Karim, a well educated agriculturist, left his home for a few minutes in the afternoon and returned to find that his wife had been locked in their bedroom by three young men who had entered his home. Mr Karim was shot 3 times and died on the spot. The assailants immediately fled the scene. Mr Karim is survived by his wife and two daughters.
The killing came in a week where another minority group in Pakistan, members of the Christian community, have also faced persecution. Speaking about the current situation in Pakistan, the world Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“The situation in Pakistan is extremely grave. So called Muslims continue to tarnish the name of Islam. Recently extremists in Pakistan have inflicted horrific cruelties on the Christian minority, in the name of Islam. The country is plagued with a lack of law and order, even though the authorities try to claim the contrary. In practice, where it comes to upholding the rights of a vulnerable citizen or group, all law and order is forgotten.”
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat condemns in the strongest terms the persecution faced by the Christian minority in recent days. What has happened there and also the continued persecution of Ahmadis is completely alien to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Holy Prophet Muhammad. The Holy Qur’an clearly states that ‘there should be no compulsion in religion’ but unfortunately this is an injunction that has been forgotten by parts of the Muslim world. This is the reason why Ahmadis such as Rana Ata-ul Karim are martyred on a regular basis in Pakistan and why the Government continues to uphold anti-Ahmadiyya legislation passed in 1974 and 1984.
For Pakistan to emerge from this period of self-destruction it must be governed with honesty and integrity. Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:
“In Pakistan the politicians are fearful of the power of the extremist clerics. Because of this no example of justice can be seen in the country.”

Another Minority Killing in Pakistan

Re: Another Minority Killing in Pakistan

With the homicide rate in Pakistan and your figures for Ahmedi population living in the country, an Ahmedi is bound to be murdered once in a while. Its statistics.

i dont consider ahmedis as muslims, is liey i am not going to comment on hazrat masroor or masood or whatever quoting Quran. I do consider them a non muslim minority. What happened recently with christians and what appear to have happened in this incident is disgusting and vile. Why dont the authorities step in ? if this false bravado(of thuggish goons) is severely dealt with it will teach people to think hundred times before taking laws in their hands and trying to dress it up as a religious duty.

It is indeed a sad news for me becasue my fellow faithman was killed for his faith. However I had to share the news which I have and you all the right to make your personal comments.

Please please...dont start this debate of Muslim or Non-Muslim....This is not the thread nor the topic.

You never know WHY he was killed. You are assuming it was for his faith. I am assuming it was one of the hundreds of murders that happen all over the country. You also need to tell us why are you sharing a news.

What next, Ahmedi got flu because of his faith?

I didnt write the full background behind the murder becuase most people ask for proof. Even few months I ago I was asked to present some information from news source. Hence it is upto you to think whatever you want to.

Re: Another Minority Killing in Pakistan

The same IDIOTS killed hundreds of muslims as well.

Government is taking actions and it was good to see Punjab government's announcement today that no one is allowed to loud speakers in the mosques except for AZAAN. It was mainly because some jahil mullahs had used loud speakers to urge ignorants to carry out attacks against minorities (or even muslims in some cases).

Re: Another Minority Killing in Pakistan

Killing of innocents is unacceptable. I guess we need more strict laws that will protect the rights of minorities. I wish our government would literally invest in programs that would educate people to accept and respect differences. But considering the people who are running our country, I doubt they will do anything constructive to bring the country togather

Yeah but tit for tat won't do any good to anyone.

This type of attacks are started in South India too, a mullah from UP gave a speach in Madanapalli (Andhra Pradesh) saying Ahmadis are non- muslims, and encouraged them to demolish ahmadis mosque, there are 3 to 4 towns in that area with 60 to 70% muslim population,

Re: Another Minority Killing in Pakistan

I am surprised. I never take part in such discussion, I believe that being a muslim and being a man no one has right to kill anyone but the news is very clear about killing of a humen being and sure he was innocent but no point of the news leads to a minority killing exept the claim of author or his faith group. Thouands are being killed same way every year.

hard for me to ignore it. Ahmedis to me are non muslims i dislike it when they call themselves muslims(which is how your article refers to them, if you dont want this brought in refrain from posting articles that quote them as muslims). While i abhorr any voilence directed at them on the basis of their being minority i dislike that in turn of that voilence my sympathisies can be manipulated to accept them as muslims.since your article refers to two things that i dislike i comment on them both.

These are indeed your personal views and you have all the right to keep these views. The same way I also reserve the right to call my self anything I like....and I choose to be called Muslim....if you dont like....tough.

The second part of your post: Basically you personal views are not letting you condemn this act of violence becuase you think if you condemn this then people will say he is with Ahmadies...If you think that you have to answer Allah and not these people then your views should be with JUSTICE and absolute justice.

Re: Another Minority Killing in Pakistan

Ahmadis are not muslim. Deal with it.

I don't think you understood, i just said that these kind of people are enemies of humanity, they are just KILLERS.

Re: Another Minority Killing in Pakistan

Must you give every inhumane act a “religious twist” as if to win extra sympathy? :smack:

Killing is condemnable, and we all condemn it. Not because he was “minority”, but because he was a Pakistani citizen.

Please stop playing the victim all the time. Countless lives are lost, you don’t hear others making a hue and cry about it on a sect level. It gives your sincere emotions a taint of propaganda, and point-scoring at best.

similarily if you dont like my views about ahmedis tough.

no actually i can condemn voilence as i have done in my posts but at the same time i reserve the right to make my opinions about about ahmedis being known. I believe contrary to what you are saying, because i consider ahmedis as non muslims you cannot believe that i can denounce voilence directed at them. Learn to differentiate. If you equate my calling an ahmedi a non muslim with my supporting voilence agaisnt them then you are clearly wrong.

Well said vigoratus, that’s exactly what i meant.

Re: Another Minority Killing in Pakistan

With these kind of thread, i fear that tomorrow some body from Taliban will popup here and post a thread stating that the minority of Taliban is under threat in Pakistan, Govt. is officially taking their members out and they fear that if the rate continues, they will be eliminated in near future....

D'toxed you can cry and play victim all the time, any special reasons ( apart from filing visas/nationality of european countries) i do condemn killing of any innocent life regardless of the their belief..
