Re: another meaning mystery ..
**again, i wud write the she’r out in proper roman urdu:
koii samjhe to IK baat kahuuN
'ishq taufeeq hai, gunaah nahiiN!
first, a correction:
there are TWO variations of the urdu word for ONE…ek [2 syllables - one long and one short] and IK [one short syllable]…here, the meter of the she’r allows a word with shorter syllable, i.e. IK
now, the explanation:
this is a beautiful she’r in short bahr [meter]. here, the KEY words are TAUFEEQ and “KOI SAMJHE”…the deeper meaning is hidden in the choice usage of these words.
since LOVE, before marriage, is always seen as SIN by the righteous, the poet, very politely, dares to ask for the permission from those who have the ability to critically see beyond the obvious, **** to reveal the secret of love, ****…then, he tells about his foresight and about the secret of love in the following words:
Ishq is NOT a SIN, its rather a RARE GIFT bestowed upon a CHOSEN SELECT FEW by God Himself.**
