Thank you for that. I was wondering why this thread was full of incorrectly quoted news. PTI has clearly stated that it will NOT be a part of the sit in with PML-N. The previous news being quoted from Geo is where Imran said that we will support any call for strengthening the election commission. Some media outlets took that as meaning they will be apart of the PML sit in. Leave it to the media to create a mini hype for the sake of a few cheap publicity moments.

For HIRE media is surely trying best to damage PTI whenever possible.
I couldn't believe how journos kept on ignoring first sentence where Imran said he doesn't think we will participate in N league protest. All he said is he supports the idea of this protest to ensure free and fair elections in karachi. PTI had already attended JI dharna in Karachi which was attended by many others.

Other than some 'ants-in-their-pants' mind readers here, noone reported what was being claimed here. If Geo made that assertion, they were wrong. All other channels were clearly stating that PTI will not be a part of the sit in. Not sure what part of NOT they did not understand. It is no secret that media outlets, in a race to be the first to report/break a story, present certain possibilities as facts, which is highly irresponsible of them.

LAHORE, Jan 26: Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly, has said that free and fair elections will remain an elusive dream unless the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is given a free hand to carry out the task.
Talking to reporters at the residence of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif in Raiwind on Saturday, Chaudhry Nisar said: “We will stage a march from Parliament House to the ECP office to demand empowerment of the commission (to enable it to accomplish its task without any pressure).”
He said PML-N would not allow President Asif Ali Zardari to install a caretaker set-up of his own choice in Sindh and Balochistan. “We want a set-up having support of the opposition in both provinces,” he said.
In reply to a question, he said that after consultation with other political parties, the PML-N would stage a sit-in outside the Parliament House next week on the issues Sindh and Balochistan were faced with.
To another question, he said his statements always reflected Nawaz Sharif’s point of view and policies of the PML-N.
Federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira had said that Chaudhry Nisar said one thing and Nawaz Sharif another. “Therefore Chaudhry Nisar’s statements cannot be taken as those of the PML-N.”
The opposition leader reiterated his demand for removal of governors of the four provinces. “The ‘political’ governors should be replaced with non-political ones before general elections,” he said.
The president of the central Punjab chapter of the PPP, Manzoor Wattoo, termed the demand unconstitutional and said that chief executive of a province is chief minister, not governor.’

Petty Politics. A few days back when Imran Khan pointed out that the election commission was not free and fair, as Fakhruddin G Ibrahim himself was fine but others in the ECP were not. There was a lot of hue and cry on that from PMLN. Now PMLN is doing a sit-in for the same purpose. :hmmm: They want their say in deciding the caretaker setup of Balochistan and Sindh, but are quiet on the caretakers in Punjab and KP. Even in the center there are suggestions of Asma Jehangir being made the caretaker PM who will not be acceptable to PTI and some other parties.

An alliance with any party means, give and take. If its between 2 corrupt parties, then the agreement is that you ignore our corruption, and we ignore yours. If its between 1 corrupt and 1 clean party, the agreement is that you ignore our corruption, and we will give you premiership plus other ministries. An alliance can only be good between 2 clean parties, where fairness prevails.
IK would talk to Bilawal only if he was solely looking for the PM slot, or some ministries. Even though Bilawal is clean (so far) , it would be fruitless to talk to him, keeping in mind the fact that PPP will continue to be governed by Zardari in the background.
