Alright, so I finally got tired of wrestling with my Windows-based laptop. Dude is just a few months old, has Vista, updated itself automatically to SP-1 and started giving all kinds of problems. Still runs, but my fed-up/frustration factor jumped through the roof.
Anyway, long story short, I bought MacBook Air. Works beautifully. This machine is literally a work of art. Even though I can’t figure why they have fn, control, option and command buttons all at the same time, but I guess there must be some legacy reason. While the multi-touch pad is fantastic, I also got the blue-tooth Mighty Mouse, and the little devil is a piece of wonder. I have activated right click on it, and now it seems life is steadly getting beautiful.
Now, here comes the software part. I haven’t bought the $99 SuperDrive yet. Will do so, when I get the $149 Office for Mac - Home and Student edition.
My more immediate question is about a software to manage photographs. The computer comes with iPhoto, which seems like more of a Picasa kind of program, where you need to import pictures in it (took a while to get pics of my Shared network storage). I am looking for something more like IrfanView, where I can view pics (without importing) and do basic editing. It seems IrfanView is not for Macs.
Also, for advanced editing of photos, which is the best Mac software - preferably not too too expensive?
Thanks
