Another general given charge of another institution!
These na-pak incompetent generals take Pakistanis for granted. They are answerable to no one except another general.
Some people say that every country owns the army, but in Pakistan the army owns the country.

Musharraf orders establishment of federal food committee Rawalpindi, Pakistan, Jan 12( PPI) - President Pervez Musharraf Saturday took serious notice of non-availability and soaring price of wheat flour and resultant hardships faced by general public and directed the federal government to immediately establish Federal Food Committee under National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The committee, headed by Lt. General (rtd) Farooq Ahmad Khan, Chairman of NDMA, will be responsible for ensuring market availability of food items including wheat flour, coordinate with concerned federal, provincial governments and private sector agencies involved in procurement, storage, transportation and distribution of such items.
It's called Generophilia!
Where the Generals only trust each other, and see the citizens as incompetent. It is almost like a high; wherein, the subject feels that he/she is the newage role model and thus creating a narcissistic phenomenon of rules and regulations. Often those rules and regulations are modeled to his/her image, reflection how he/she sees the society ought to look as if it were a mirror. It's a monarchy under military rule with a civilian skin to make it seem deceptive.

Prince bro! Criticism for the sake of criticism is no good. If you don't like this particular person as in-charge, recommend another one. Give his/her credentials as a proof, and then 65 odd thinker-leaders from guppistan will sign the petition on your candidate's behalf.

This is one of the central reasons for why these things dont work... General are supposed to lead soldiers, what the heck would a general know about running a "federal food comitee?"
In the long run this means that not only will Pak institutions remain weak, as they are run by people with no training or credentials to run them, but because by depriving civilians of management roles in such comitees, we ensure that the country will have to rely on the Army to provide management... Thus the Army ensure it central role in the governance of the country at the expense of everyone else...
PP1 bro! Usually you are pretty good at rubbishing Pakistan. However on this one you fail to notice something important!
Lt. General (rtd) Farooq Ahmad Khan,
And most of us know that "rtd" means "retired" and such generals or officers are not really "supposed to lead soldiers".
As I said earlier, we have become so "biased" in our views that we keep on shoveling the same hateful cr@p over and over and over again.
p.s. If he was an active duty general, then off course you had a point.
No, you failed to understand that generals in Pakistan control everything, and I mean everything including 20% of the economy, and thats not counting defense budget which is 4.5 billion dollars a year officially, and unofficially its probably lot higher. Retired generals run everything from universities to mega state own companies. That is why people hate them b/c they think they own the country, and people of the country are their subjects who are to be used and abused.
BTW, active duty general was running the country for 8 years. Where you against him?

Unfortunately this thread again is turning into bashing the opponents. Nothing against you Khan bro! I was just pointing to a specific "aspect" of "this particular thread". If you feel I was wrong in pointing that fact, then say so. Why to go about beating around the Bush!
^one of who doesnt understand to accept facts is you, with your arab racism aobl. Bias reporting and arguing will lead to nothing. Try to understand that the biggest mafia in South Asian history is our own military. A mafia controlling more than 80% of the government sector.

you don't know what your talking about
These people have no qualification for the posts they have been appointed in, and their track record shows they have ruined the vast majority of organisations they are put in charge of, and of course have become very rich in the process - at the expense of the country
Dude… You dont know what your talking about… Dont accuse me of rubbishing anyone when you yourself havent the common sense to read between the line…
The Point again, is that the TRAINING of a general, is in leading soldiers, not commanding a commity. Whether he is retired or otherwise, there are far more eligible and qualified individuals out there whos credentials reflect such a profession, and are not retired generals… This is a method the Army uses to perpetuate its control over the civilian institutions.
Dont “rubbish” what people have to say, before actually thinking about what it is you are trying to say.. YOUR own bias forces you to shovel that same old cr@p over and over because thats all you have to shovel…

Why shouldnt it? The point of this thread was to point out that generals, whether retired or otherwise, have no place in positions that dont reflect their training or profession...
Why is that so difficult for you to understand... This would be a very sensible debate if you didnt come out snarling and being confrontational.
Point out the facts without hurling insults, otherwise dont.

burqaposh, you don't seem to read my previous posts about na-pak generals of our army.
It is not about one person, it is about the institution which has Pak under its thumb.
This is the reason I am against Musharraf's control of government. The govt is not by Musharraf, but by army generals.
Do you know about Aisha Siddiqa's book "Military Inc."?
I recommend this book to people like you who don't seem to know about the Military business in our country.
p.s. If he was an active duty general, then off course you had a point.
You fail to realize that it is not about one person. The names are not important. It is the TITLES.
Army generals have grabbed several institutions of Pak, as if they think civilians are incompetent. Actually, this perception shows their own incompetence.
And there is nothing "unpatriotic" to say the truth against these generals. No one is against Pakistan Army. But against some generals.
er findings are staggering: for example, the amount of land owned by military officers through subsidized schemes amounts to $4.6 billion. The military pensions being offered are five times the amount for civilian officers. The role of the Fauji Foundation and other military organizations in running commercial enterprises that range from cereal manufacturing to running schools is astounding.
The usual argument given by proponents of milbus is that the military is the most disciplined organization and can do everything more efficiently. Yet, this logic is defied by most of the world’s leading economic powers where development has occurred through private enterprise by educated and responsible citizens.
