We all in Pakistan know what the status of religious freedon in Indian society is. Babari mosque 1992, Gujarat 2002 riots etc are shining examples of worlds biggest democracry’s human rights records. With its 160 million + , muslim population, Indian society can’t afford to behave irresponsibily like that of Denmark’s or Netherlands by publishing balsphemous cartoons or making outrageous movies against Quran or Islam. But there seems to be a new trend now, whenever non-muslims get a chance they would incite muslims by insulting the Prophet(pbuh) with blasphemous remarks and this is another example of this ??so tolerant, rights abiding, biggest democracy??:
NEW DELHI, May 27 (APP): The Muslim Organizations in India have launched strong protest and demanded action against a Professor who set a blasphemous question in the History Paper of MA in Ranchi University.
Despite passage of three weeks, Muslim residents of Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkand, are seething in rage and demanding to know the identity of the professor who committed blasphemy against the Prophet (PBUH).
The language used in the paper so incensed the Muslim students that they immediately assembled in large numbers and attacked the university building where the examination was being held. Police had to resort to lathi-charge to bring the situation under control and tension prevailed in the city where communal rioting was feared.
Later delegations from the Muslim community met the administration and university officials to demand action against the perpetrator of the crime. The university officials refused to disclose the name of the culprit who set the inflammatory question, for reasons of his personal security even though he had been debarred from the examiner panel.
Coming in the wake of blasphemous occurrences in Holland and Denmark, framing of a blasphemous question, totally irrelevant to the course of study, is indicative of the insensitivity shown to religious feelings of the 15 per cent Muslim segment of the Indian population, opine observers.

^ judging by that mentality, Pakistan is the most superior democracy in the history of the Universe. Wahabi/taliban extremists attack quite often, and they are in no way even less then a percentage of a fraction.
Please clarify how that is considered 'Human Rights Abuse'. Blasphemous, maybe.

Religious freedom is a part of human rights and religious incitement against a minority for no good reaon is breaching that freedom. This is why the whole Islamic world is loathing Denmark and Netherlands.

It seems this is how you are dealing with your Muslim minority by putting blasphemous remarks against the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and nourishing the people who keep these kind of attitudes.

India is just following what's going on in Denmark and Netherlands , inciting Muslims with Blasphemous remarks against Prophet Pbuh won't serve any purpose to anyone. This is what an example of largest democracy is, by not punishing those who are responsible for these incitements? If Indian society is that responsible why shouldn't it set an example by demanding to kick out that professor from the university.

For every affront against muslims in India I can show you 2 against muslims (yes muslims) in Pakistan AND 2 against Hindus in India (yes, Hindus in India). So don't even try to play the muslim card here. It is not for nothing that the the third largest muslim population in the world is actually the happier in India and NOT in Pakistan or Indonesia.
The very fact that you are having to scratch the bottom of the barrel to come up with such a little incident and make it sound like a human rights abuse shows that India is doing fine by the muslims there.

How can you show us anything in Pakistan having never set foot in there yourself? Oh and per your claim can you show us anywhere where twice the number of Muslims were set on fire in Pakistan as were in Gujrat? or twice the number of mosques destroyed as in Gujerat or even twice the number of temples destroyed? Also you are not a Muslim and are no one to say where the Muslims are and aren't happy. If that was the case, there wouldn't be any whining about how Muslims in India support the Pakistani teams in various sports events.

I would have been happy if you had been so incensed when MF Hussain drew caricatures of Hindus Gods. India is a democracy the whole world knows it. It will not change by the action of an absent minded professor. This person has been debarred from being in the examiner panel. If some community can be inflamed by a wayward question in the examination paper and damage property, then it is proof to show that India still is a democracy.

If people damage public property, they should be shot rather than being lathi charged whatever be the provocation for the protests.
The professor has already been debarred from the examiner panel. What more action do you require. Should he be hanged or rather be stoned. For your information we do not have Taliban style of government in India.
