I only said that Islam would not mean anything to a person who has lost a dear one in this war against terrorism. That person can easily be brainwashed into doing anything. There are two questions, one is who is funding those terrorists. The other is why do ordinary people join terrorist organizations. I am trying to answer the second one. You just need to look at the civilian death toll during this war during the last eight years to know the extent of anger and hatred among people there.
Five years into the afghan war, the taliban were pushed into Pakistan where the incompetent Pakistan army did not have the means, guts or motivation to stop them. The generals were busy licking ass and making money out of the ‘war on terror’. The Brigadiers were looking out for their promotions. The colonels were busy scrambling for plots in DHAs. The majors thinking about postings at tourist destinations. Captains too dumb to think about anything.
