*This guy has been in the PML[N], PPP, PML[Q] you name it, and was extremely corrupt, and now his conviction which was overturned makes it possible for him to contest elections again. He can be best compared to a politician like Wasi Zafar in terms of merit and capability. Thank you NRO, for the pardons of Zardaris, Hussains, and Khokhars! When laws arent followed, people like this will come back to rule Pakistan.

Nawaz Khokhar acquitted under NRO

LAHORE
THE Lahore High Court on Monday, invoking the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), set aside imprisonment and fine awarded to former National Assembly Deputy Speaker Haji Nawaz Khokhar by an accountability court.
Haji Nawaz Khokhar, through his counsel Manzoor Malik, had filed an acquittal application before the LHC pleading for setting aside his sentence after the promulgation of the NRO-2007.
An accountability court had sentenced Khokhar three-year in imprison and fined him Rs 1.89 million on June 15, 2004. The accountability court had also prohibited Khokhar from contesting elections, holding any public office or obtaining loans from any bank for 10 years.
Khokhar was accused of evading Rawalpindi district’s Sihala and Kural union councils’ fees amounting to Rs 1.8 million from 1990 to 1993. He was also accused of getting 150 kanal Shamlat-i-Deh (land jointly owned by villagers) situated at Loi Bhe village near Islamabad and transferring it illegally in his wife’s name.
