another chance to waqar comin up ???

now when shoaib is banned for next test don’t u think it migth just be a call back for waqar younis, as without him n shoaib we may just be bitting our nails in field.

have ur say

Amir Sohail is the chief Selector..
he might replace Shoaib with Razzaq....

well actually thats not a bad idea ... but its very unlikely given that theyve just taken in moin back ...

you forgetting Shabbir.

Waqar would be my choice...he is still a very good, wicket tacking bowler...and if u look at his record whenever he was brought back in the team after being sidelined he did good job...

how Can the sellection committee....still punish him for the world cup defeat in which waqar was not the only player and bring back moin under whome pakistan lost more matches that they should have won.??

when mushi n moin can be back why not viky

No please!
This rebuilding process has contradicted itself very much already.
They called Mushy, and he was dissappointing, they call Moin, and he drops one of the easiest catches of Gibbs (maybe a match costing drop)
And now Waqar will make things worst.
We need a genuine fast bowler in the next game.

did u watch the last series waqar played for Pak...it was against SA Last year....he was consistantly bowling in the range of 138- 142 KMS... dont think one can call it slow...its about 10 kms faster than Shaun Pollock......Yeah Pakistan needs a Fast bowler...but at the same time they need an experience one too. i would ruther have waqar who is quick and has a smart experienced head instead of anybody whi is just plain quick.

first wass up with this rebuilding process. u know, i know and the whole nation knows that rebuilding is a bul****..... u know that.. dont u...plus u never have a rebuilding process by kicking every one out and bring every new player in....

second i dont understand wut u mean by genuine fast bowler... wud u please like to define this terminology for us... do u mean a damn quick fast bowler with shear pace but no control.... if that is wut u mean, do we have any one in stock? i have seen shabbir, umer both and trust me , they bowl less fast than waqar...so where we gonna get one... umer will be trashed all over the ground by SA if he playes next match and that will destroy his career... he is only 18 yrs old....for god sake, be nice to him...dont waste him....that is great he played against BD.. he had some valuable experience by doing so, now let him play some domestic cricket and let him have more experience.... and in the mean time bring back some of ur experinced players back against a good side... and keep doin this cycle untill young players r fully groomed... that is wut a rebuilding process is and that is how every one does it... not by kicking every one out suddenly...

Thanks alot for supporting waqar

he is still quick n smart enough to bowl on any surface.

wish him all the best

What I meant by genuine fast bowler, someone who is young and very fast, Waqar might have bowled 3 or 4 fast deliveries but he usually bowls in his 130s, and Pakistan has an unlimited supply of young fast bowlers, not neccesarily Gul or Shabbir, but we have much more.

i don understand y there is so much fuss abt the rebuilding process? rebuilding doesnt mean that no senior player can play! rite now pakistan is very much in the rebuilding phase n we have produced some remarkable players who if consistent can play for a long time to come. to name a few:

hameed
taufiq
farhat
sami
danish
kamal
malik

n we havent yet given an extended run to guys like mizbah, faisal, saeed yasir, n others

its pretty obvious that there are other issues as to why a bowler of waqar's calibre is not on the team... i.e. mainly political... his experience would be invaluable but it doesnt look like hes coming back anytime soon

naheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Let me spell out some of those issues to you once and for all. Please do come back with a rebuttal if you think I am being unfair:

  1. Waqar as a bowler is in decline and it's debatable whether he would be any more effective than Gul or Shabbir who can only get better.

  2. Waqar's as captain led to a serious decline in team spirit up to and including the most disastrous WC campaign in Pakistan's history.

  3. Even previous to the WC Pakistan was in disarray for 12 months under Waqar's leadership.

  4. Pakistan's results are now improving rapidly and introducing a former captain with grudges to bear would threaten the spirit in the new camp.

Other than that I have the highest respect for Waqar as a bowler but no thanks I'd rather not go backwards I quite like winning again.

^I never said waqar should be back on the team... i simply said that one of the main reasons for him not coming back (if he is even under consideration) would be political... i.e. aamir sohail is the cheif selector.. that was the point I was trying to make

the only reason y not bringing him back makes sense is because when u induct a senior player in pak it usually results in ego clashes and power politics. but then we can say the same abt moin, cant we?? he's had a chequered past as well.
