A suicide attack in Rawalpindi on 4 February left at least six dead
There has been a suicide bomb attack in the Pakistani city of Rawalpindi, government officials say.
The army’s top surgeon, Lt Gen Mushtaq Baig, was one of three people killed by the attacker, who rammed his car into a military vehicle.
The attack took place in a garrison area of the city. Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was killed in a blast in Rawalpindi in December that left more than 20 other people dead.
A suicide attacker hit a military bus in Rawalpindi on 4 February, leaving at least six people dead. The BBC’s Syed Shoaib Hasan in Islamabad says that Monday’s incident is the second attack against army medical personnel this year, and the first since general elections were held last week.
He was an instructor, a leader and a colleague to many of my family and friends in the Army Medical Corps. What a damn shame. What and who can possibly justify the slaughter of doctors???
I just phoned Pakistan after hearing the news and my ex-GHQ colleague told me that he was treating one of his family member for cancer and also he operated one of my other friends mother's eyes.
Imagine how many lives he must be saving or treating people. What on earth these terrorists are doing...How they justify these type of attrocities. God will never forgive people like these Innshallah.
Then let them come here and have their say. At least have the spine to identify themselves and try and justify this. I would really like to know how or what justification can possibly be offered for this outrage.
Govt officials have marked that he was not the actual victim of the attack. It was some "High Profile" actually. They have also given somehow details of the suisicide bomber. He was a guy with fair complexion and 15-18 of age. This is i guess the third of the blast in a row in Rawalpindi alone. Death toll reached 8 as confirmed by the Govt. Officials.
It seems like the terrorists are looking for soft targets or targets of opportunity.
Also, this is the second attack on the Army Medical Corps. The previous attack was on a bus carrying attendees of the Armed Forces Postgraduate Medical Institute. Here is one of the victims from this attack:
Doctors, army personnel, innocent bystanders - the least you all can do is not give any donations to any Jihadi outfit, even if they claim to represent the so called 'Kashmir Jihad'.
Hopefully the new Government will realise the past blunders of arming & training these Jihadi outfits, and inadvertently bringing the Jihadi culture into Pakistani civil life.
this would be blamed on musharraf if it was pre election. but we all know who is doing this. these people shouldn't call themselves muslims. we shouldn't either. they must be simply outcasted. the new government will do nothing about them. they have made no mention of dealing with these creatures in their campaigns, which scares me.
Now who is doing this. Is ofcourse an enigma to me. There is a word in the air that all this is happening because of our ex govt's false policies refarding few issues... Like Lal Masjid and all such stuff. But that boy of 15-18... These suiscidal bombing and all this... entirely inhuman act. I cant imagine what makes one such a beast. I mean what the heck. Enough is enough. We have already have so much of bloddshed owing to these suicidal self jehaads...
I just wonder in a sheer sense of pain. WHO IS BEHIND ALL THIS. WHY AINT THEY STOPPING IT AT ALL and WHAT THE HELL THEY WANT?
