Not only it may be a lie, but can be devastating to someone. In some instances, if not proven, it is a serious crime too to blame someone like this.
This kind of ‘weapon’ should never be used by women.
Being annoying is something, being someone with such low character is other.
I am still assuming that the person was just an annoying friend of the husband based on available info.
