Announcement of Pak World Cup squad to be televised live
KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would announce 15-member Pakistan team for the forthcoming World Cup on December 31 at 2pm in Lahore, General Manager Operations and Acting Director PCB, Zakir Khan said on Sunday.
Zakir Khan said Chairman Selection Committee, Wasim Bari would announce Pakistan’s World Cup team.
He said PCB was making arrangements that the announcement could be telecast live on PTV for the cricket enthusiasts all over the country.
PCB Chairman Lt. Gen. Tauqir Zia has already announced fast bowler Waqar Younis as the captain of Pakistan team for the forthcoming World Cup 2003.
It was also learnt that Wasim Bari reached PCB headquarters in Lahore on Sunday to hold a meeting with the other selectors to finalise the final 15 players of Pakistan.
Wasim Bari would also meet PCB Chairman Lt. Gen Tauqir Zia before the final announcement.
