Anniversary Ideas?

Hi all, my 3 year wedding anniversary is coming up in Dec… It will be my first anniversary I get to spend with my husband, cos though we had our nikaah 3 years ago, we just had our rukhsati in April and since Aug I’ve been back in the UK; so I’m flying over to Pakland to visit him.

I know he’s planning on doing something already, but I want to do something for him too. Like before I came back to England I made us a blanket candlelit dinner on the roof of his home and decorated around the bed with red/gold hearts attached white thread stuck to the roof, which he loved.

I usually make presents as well as buying, but I’m kinda running out of ideas; other than buying him some Aviator Ray Bans and a jumper or two and me in Damaris, I’m having no luck on the ideas front.

Would love to hear ideas of what you girls have done for your other halves, and any of you guys could suggest what youd like your (future) halves to do. Even if it’s corny, post marraige I’ve realised I’m as soppy, if not soppier than the next person in love.

I don't have anything to add but what do most people consider their anniversary date? The date of the Nikah or the date of the Rukhsati?

I think it differs from person to person. The nikah anniversary holds more meaning for some, whereas for others it is the rukhsati.

I think you are onto the right idea when it comes to the candlelit dinner stuff. Maybe that should be a traditional thing. As for making him something, you could put together a collage of sorts in album form for him. Though honestly I think girls appreciate that more than guys do.

I personally would love my half to schedule an entire day together. Possibly get out of the city to some scenic spot. Go spend the night there away from home and the mundane.
