Animal Fights

Human beings who call themselves superior creation have always enjoyed fighting with each other. All the wars over the centuries had not satisfied them and they still fight with each other.

There are people who also enjoy fight between animals. The fight between dogs, murghas is almost known to all of us.

Have you ever seen such fights or fights among other animals? Whats your personal view for such fights and people involved for such fights?

Re: Animal Fights

I have very strong opinions on this one.

Even from an early age I was accustomed to violence myself, as a boy I walways fought and as a mna I still think fighting is my natual calling.

But for some reason I horribly disapprove of fighting in the animal world, especially where money is concerned. For that matter even boxing or fighting where humans are fighting for money I believe is haram. I might consider charity boxing or helping people learn self defence or for fighting as a way of excercise.

But when men make animals fight for thier viewing pleasure or to put bets on them then I feel like slapping the hell out of them. :faris:

In my culture Kashmir is famous for Polo ponies and horses. Some fools make horses fight and I have always openly opposed it but more popular is watching dog fights like a spectator sport and people spend big money of these terribley cruel and bogus sports.

I can understand training these dogs to fight might be important way to keep them fit, but if a man wanted to keep his dogs fit he should take them hunting or for long trips across country. I dont see a need for dog fights anymore. Not even to train the animals or toughen them becuase ther are many other ways.

I have been made to watch such fights as a young boy and I remember people in Potowar and Azad Kashmir even Punjab do these things for money but in my view its haram to even buy a dog. If a friend came to me for a puppy I would not mind giving it away or swapping it for something but never can I change hands with money over a pets life. Besides in Pakistan dogs are more than just pets they used to guard our herds and homes and now this is how we repay them.

My Uncle thinks i’m stubborn but I think he is crazy for spending silly money on dogs. I am more intersted in buying horses to ride and having dogs to hunt especially in packs. Even then I would not hunt game like a vicous Western farmer or Hunter would take game just for pleasure. I would hunt an animal for the meat or as pest control. I used to be proud of my villagers and was held as a great man becuase when I was home not one Jackal or Wolf would ever dare come towards our village. Now since I am in UK I hear of livestock being snatched and sometimes evenh children or women get attacked by wolves and jackals.

A dog is a great friend of man and we should not abuse thier rights.

Re: Animal Fights

:mirch: These are the poor and less educated people. Think of people like peer Pagara who are religious leaders for some people and they are involved in dog fighting. :bummer:

Re: Animal Fights

Peer hokay aisay kaam kaisay karta hain… :mad2:

Re: Animal Fights

Considering themselves Peer (above others) automically gives them license to do whatever they like :hoonh: I think they also araange fight between dogs and beer (reechh)

Re: Animal Fights

Re: Animal Fights

What is real or fake, I cannot say Allah knows best.

But a great man from Baghdad once told me trust your inner feelings... he said there are miracles all round us everyday but not all will see them. I was steered through some difficuilty and now I have much more confidence.

Seeing is believing sometimes so we should trust our own senses more than anything, for senses are a gift from Allah too. We respect our Ullema and those who are above us but that does not mean we follow them blindly. :)

Re: Animal Fights

Well said.

Unfortunately, people don't look their peers personal deeds while following them. These peers quote ahadees for mercy on animals, but when it comes to activities like animal fights, they are ahead of others.

Re: Animal Fights

In all of us there is a strange hypocracy... Look at me for instance.

All my life I have fought like an animal and sometimes when i get angry I will beat a man so badly, but sometimes afterwards I try and repair things and if I see others fighting I am first to break it up...

Its all part of the strange aspects of life.

Re: Animal Fights

Any form of animal fighting is disgraceful. I went to Pakistan last year and saw a recording of a dog fight I couldn’t watch it, it was that disturbing. Grown MEN all crowded around two small ANIMALS watching them and begging them to carry on. The poor dogs had been bred to fight and were bleeding. In the end one dog won and the owner was treated like he had achieved a medal… Aaaaaaaaahhh that really annoyed me that this man who had spent so much money getting this dog trained was reaping the fact that the poor animal had been physically attacked.
Regardless of peer or whatever rank these people believe they are from no one has the right to make animals who cannot speak make them fight in such a way….

Re: Animal Fights

^ Could not agree more with you.

Re: Animal Fights

This is a title from PTV Drama ‘Deewaren’ telecasted in early 1980s. The title also shows a clip of fight between a dog and beer. Unfortunately, the things have not improved much in 30 years time :frowning:

Re: Animal Fights

Thing is Dog fights even happen here in the UK, its not legal but those involved see Dogs like status symbols or ganster idols of themselves. Shamefull really.

Re: Animal Fights

I enjoyed it many times, but from a long time I didn't see Snake versus mongoose:(

Re: Animal Fights
