Re: Angry Pakistanis turn against Pakistan army
I don't know why we Pakistanis see conspiracy and propaganda in everything. The writer is merely shedding light on the ground realities in Pakistan and her sentiments are not far-fetched. We are not against our army but most people clearly hate the military's continued involvement in politics. While Mush may not be wholly responsible for almost daily suicide bombings in Pakistan his US boot licking policies clearly don't go down well with the masses. 2007 was a truly forgettable year for him. 3-3.5,000 people have died in Pakistan in 50+ suicide attacks since 2007. After presiding over arguably the bloodiest year in the history of Pakistan it seems as though 2008 won't be any different for this battling president. Also some of Mush's comments such as 'BB was very unpopular with the military' are sad to say the least. Silence would have been the best course of action in my view
Re: Angry Pakistanis turn against Pakistan army
^^ Ali yaar the article is from Times Online. He did not write what is in the article. So, let us not kill the messenger even if he is an Indian. Also, India has been the bogeyman used by our corrupt generals to keep strangle hold on our society and the people, and justify spending billions on defense, which we should be spending on our criminally neglected social sectors.
As for army I have no respect for it b/c they're responsible screwing up the country, and bringing it to state of collapse. The generals in our country are no better that corrupt politicians, and the only diff. is that we managed to hang, jailed and oust elected PMs, but no general has ever been held accountable for anything ever.

A country made for the army.
I BEG YOUR PARDON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Angry Pakistanis turn against Pakistan army
Very important quote. Shows the problem in the army and public in general where they just don't have the stomach for a full war against the terrorists. That is why Pakistan will lose and Taliban will win, unless attitudes change. After Mush is gone, the next government will be too scared and be forced to negotiate with Taliban and grant them self rule and "sharia" in large areas of their rule. That too will not bring peace, as the mullahs and taliban will want more and more. The rest history will decide.
Exactly. I don't understand what makes a soldier say that he feels like he's bombing women and children, when he's instructed to fight terrorists. Armed people with a radical and dangerous ideology to take over a sovereign muslims nation. And that's morally wrong? HOW?
Re: Angry Pakistanis turn against Pakistan army
yawn. articles against pak leadership as well as the army has been appearing in the gora press since the day pak was created. for example, see jinnah's profile in life magazine. difference was that in early days, people were much more intelligent and could see through western propaganda. these days unfortunately, pakistanis simply repeat bukwaas spread not only by goras, but also by indians. no wonder we cant defeat a rag tag arab terrorist group like al qaeda while those early pakistanis conjured a country out of thin air. furq saaf zaahir hai.

^Sabi, I'm not so sure. Since Bush is ready to power-up wahabi extremists by providing Saudi Government with weapon and more ammunition. He is surely trying to hype up his economy in one way but the main question remains: Where does Saudi Family utilize all that stuff?
Lets not forget, Taliban is Saudis best friend.
