Commitment assumes mutual give and take for it to be viable. Pigs cannot take alone and expect the situation to continue in perpetuity. If they offer nothing in return then the birds will withold the eggs.

When you commit to, lets say a social cause , what do you get in return other than some satisfaction? Why cant birds - while giving their eggs to pigs, hence making a commitment (from their point of view) - can simply be happy from the satisfaction they are getting out of that process? Unless they are faking it.
