Akhtar is the pick of the bowlers in this series so far
but even look at irfan's bowling
Akhtar is 100 time more experienced than Irfan. No one can defend poor fielding but give a guy break. He is playing his first games. Nerves can get you. What Afridi did is totally wrong and nothing less than what yousuf did to Salman butt over runout in Aus
Give Irfan a break! Poor guy has only played something like ten 1st class matches, works full time as a technician at a plastic factory for living and suddenly get thrown in to big league (others can only dream of) in foreign condition in a team that is demoralized by scandals.
Its the fking PCBs fault, if they knew that Irfan had a bright prospect they should have cultivated/trained him.
In any case, Afridi the ball muncher is "Aandhon mein kanna raja". wtf has he done? Nothing!
Whats with this over the top "boom boom" crap on the uniforms and bats of the players. Afridi misfires on all the cylinders most of the time and only once in a while does he perform with the bat. As soon he is near 15-20 runs my pulse goes up in anticipation of a "brainless" shot by afridi.

What has cultivation got to do with dropping simple catches and getting cramp after every over. secondly the crap boom boom has nothing to do with Afridi, it is the brand of the company which is sponsoring them.
It is not like Afridi publicly blasted Irfan at a press conference. Most likely he made his frustration known to a reporter during an informal chat
And I agree with kudlaguy that it is necessary sometimes to give such dressing downs in public.
Yes.. sometimes.. but how many times has Irfan played and dropped crucial catches? Ek do baar to jaane de yar.. baaki sab 10-10 baar drop karte hain tab to afridi kuch ni bolta...
…No one likes fielding, apart from Jonty Rhodes and one or two Australians who have probably spent too much time in the sun. Fielding isn’t natural. Most players need to work incredibly hard at it just to reach a level where they won’t embarrass themselves on television and even then, they can only keep it up for so long. England started the summer well, but it’s wearing off and they too are back to stumbling and slipping about in the field like newborn foals taking their first tentative ice skating lessons.
It came as something of a surprise therefore to hear the estimable Mr Afridi castigating one of his own players, the genial green giant Mohammad Irfan, for not acquitting himself well in the field.
“I’m really disappointed with this guy,” said The Boom, "Cricket is not all about just batting and bowling, nowadays fielding is very important.”
This is rather harsh, I feel. Irfan could be forgiven for complaining that they’d said nothing about fielding being important when he sat through the “So You Want to Play For Pakistan?” introductory video, nor had it featured at any of their training sessions. Pakistan don’t even have a fielding coach, which is just as well, because the poor chap would by now be heavily sedated and occupying a padded cell in one of the nation’s more secure facilities for the terminally bewildered…
