Angels and Islam

Is it correct that everyone has two angels assigned to them?

One for each shoulder

Reporting each and every thing you do in life, in minute details!

Here are the relevant verses:

[50:16] And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life-vein.
[50:17] When the two receivers receive, sitting on the right and on the left.
[50:18] He utters not a word but there is by him a watcher at hand.
[50:19] And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape.

[50:21] And every soul shall come, with it a driver and a witness.

PakistaniAbroad: The word 'Angel' doesn't occur. The 'two receivers' could even be your ears?! the 'driver' and a 'witness' could be some kind of 'tap' into your memory which may spill out all you've said/heard/done/felt/thought etc.?

again.. it's all open to interpretations and your level of knowledge at the time.

PA, are there any relevant hadiths, sayings or rulings that may shed more light on this subject?

Yes (according to Islam). This is an informative website regarding it - i haven’t read through all of it so before anyone crucifies me, i apologize in advance if it has any errors in it, no one shoot me i’m just trying to help: http://www.islamia.com/Angels%20&%20Jinn/angelsin.htm

Angels occupy a rather significant position within Islam. UTD, i am sure you are already aware of the roles played by angel Gabriel during the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

Just out of curiosity - what does Christianity state regarding this issue? Out of curiosity, where does the concept of an individual’s ‘guardian angels’ fit within Christian principles?
