**ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - **Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, who is also a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, met with Pakistan's prime minister in Islamabad on Wednesday, a foreign ministry statement said.
During her meeting with Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, she thanked him for hosting Afghan refugees, it said.
Jolie has visited refugee camps in some countries since 2001 when she became a goodwill ambassador for the agency. She will meet Afghan refugees during her three-day in Pakistan, officials say.
Her visit came two days after a census conducted by Pakistan with UNHCR assistance showed that just over 3 million Afghans were living in Pakistan. Millions of Afghans have fled to Pakistan to escape wars and poverty at home since 1979 when Soviet troops invaded Afghanistan.
The actress won a supporting-actress Oscar for 1999’s “Girl, Interrupted.” She is best known for her role in the “Lara Croft Tomb Raider” action movies, one of which includes scenes filmed on the Greek island of Santorini.

Reuters (Islamabad) - Sources close to Pakistan Prime Minister, Shaukat Aziz, have disclosed that after his meeting with UN Goodwill Ambassador, Angelina Jolie, the Prime Minister has refused to wash his hands.
In a highly photographed event, Ms Jolie shook hands with Mr Aziz. Subsequent television footage showed Mr Aziz did not shook hands with anyone afterwards. Since then he is even eating with his left hand so as to avoid soiling his right hand, which he now affectionately calls “The Hand Which Touched Jolie”.
“We are really worried about this, and hope the situation will come to normal very soon”, a visibly worried senior member of the Prime Minister House told this correspondant, on the condition of annonymity. “In the next few days, the Prime Minister is expected to meet with several high-ranking foreign leaders, and it will be virutally impossible for us to explain to them why the Prime Minister prefers to shake with his left hand”.
Several health and psychological experts have said that while the fragrance of the hand shake remains for only a few minutes, the mental image, can sometimes remain for days or weeks.
On a related news, upon hearing the news of ‘The Hand Shake’, President Musharaf rushed to the Prime Minister house and wanted to kiss Shaukat Aziz’s hand, but the Prime Minister refused to draw the hand out of his pocket. The President seems visibly upset and is reportedly thinking about sacking the Prime Minister, and appoint Mr Humayun Akthar in his place. Sources close to Mr Akhtar have said, that President has received strong assurances from the next Prime Minister, that advance notice will be given to the President house, next time Ms Jolie is visiting Pakistan.
