If by doing it the chances of getting cancer get reduced drastically, then one should definitely choose this option.

It’s absolutely the right thing to do in my opinion and that was her choice to make. I don’t think it’s anybody’s business to sit here and judge her on her personal decisions. Infact, I feel that her publicizing this news increased awareness amongst other women to get genetic testing done especially if there is a chance of them carrying the BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutation gene and/or any breast/ovarian cancer family history.
