Samsung has released the source code for it. Just waiting on t-mobile to put together an OTA (over the air) update for the Note 3. Cant wait for it, as I have been constantly checking the updates manually through the settings menu.

From what I have been reading after the release of the source code its within 24 to 48 hours for the OTA push.

They are saying that Note 2 is also on the list to get Android KitKat since it can run on low end processors as well.

nah....not after the code has been released by samsung...its a matter of days.....will report here as soon as I get the update..

Doppleganger, the iPhone5 is a pretty cute little thing. I set up my MIL's iPhone 5 and played with it for a while too. Liked it much better than the previous generations. But I got to tell you that if you move from an Android platform to iOS, and have to deal with iTunes and all of their tension, ur going to feel confined. But yeah, just don't get rid of ur Note 2 until after ur sure ur keeping the iPhone. Meanwhile, have u checked out the Note 3? It's like the ultimate in mobile devices luxury.

Now, I am a guy and have been pushing bigger screen phones in my family much to the chagrin of my sister 
, but it is getting a little insane right now with phones slowly approaching ipad mini size. I’d give it to you that the browsing experience is much better, but carrying it around is not fun if you are not wearing a jacket (season is coming soon).
I am getting sick of the battery loss, even though I am able to charge it in the day these days. The phone still loses battery on standy (no wifi, internet) unlike iphone with wifi on. I have bricked a note 1 before, though I was too eager to root it and flashed the older file after an AT&T upgrade to the new OS, but I might give it a try if only I had time available these days. Seriously, I’d rather install linux on a PC than go through the android ordeal as you don’t just blow off the processor if things don’t go as planned.
PS I don’t really use itunes as I am not really into music. Hopefully, I’ll get radio back as my current car has been without a radio for some time 
I watch videos on youtube and then it is basically on the internet.
PS2 Maybe I can root it after I convert my micro-sim to nano to fit into the iphone. I have been worried that I might not have a phone if I mess around with phone settings now. You seem like an “expert” …

No no, I’m not really an expert at all. I have limited rooting experience but I’m pleased with the results, hence my eagerness to share.
I understand your frustrations, especially the portability factor. Hmmm. I don’t really have any suggestions except that one gets used to it I suppose. Like when I switched from my iPhones to Galaxy, I’d be looking at the screen and going holy smokes this thing be huge and all! Now the other phones seem like little munnus. Lol.
Now with the battery issue, another suggestion is buying at least one spare. I had like 6 spares for my Galaxy 3, none for my 4 as it’s rooted and I can go the entire day without charging. But having those spares really helped, especially during my travels when charging stations aren’t readily available.

That's why I keep going back to my Galaxy babies. :) They be the bestest.
Currently I have a Nexus 5, an Xperia Z, an LG G2 in front of me. Been checking them out. But at the end of the day, nothing like my S4.
