it’s NOT chIpTaa [sticky], it’s chApTaa [flat], so chApTaa tavaa means FLAT TAVAA…pan is NOT tavaa because pan has some depth in where u put oil…i would say…it’s flat grill…like they ones they use for making pan cakes.

for rumaali chapaatii, the tavaa is an upside down kaRhaaii. the metal sheet it's made from isn't that thick in case of tavaa as compared to kaRaahii.

for regular chapaatis, a lesser concave-shaped tavaa is used.
