Re: ...And now PEDO falls
Last I read, laying transmission lines was the domain of the federal government. But lets forget the feds responsibility. They are busy protecting their corruption. Its their right. After all, PPP got the same right.
The article is typical Jang BS, and is written like a 6 year old is telling on his 4 year old brother.

I agree, anything against PTI govt or as a party is plain BS...source doesnt matter...even if it is Justice Wajih and he spoke about any misconduct he is BS...

Re: ...And now PEDO falls
The effort and energy Imran put in towards hate of Nawaz, bogus rigging rhetoric, etc would be much better used to lead KPK and set examples of model government. He will even lose KPK next go around.

Re: ...And now PEDO falls
Who controls PEDO? Fed or KPK? or is this an independent organization?

The ones who resigned, did so in protest against transmission lines not being laid to the plants that have been constructed. As I said before, laying of the transmission lines is the fed's responsibility. This issue was raised by Asad Umer in the assembly months ago, and the response was that laying the lines to these plants was not worth the cost. However, the same govt is more than happy to pay $250 million for transmission lines to Afghanistan and beyond for the CASA 1000 project, which is heavily dependent on foreign govt policies, and can be cut off at any time.
Rest of the stuff regarding salaries etc is merely hogwash, an attempt to add masala to the news.

Either stick to the topic at hand, or please clarify in the beginning that the thread will include all issues possibly related to PTI, since its inception, as the purpose is to make like Anwar Pasha and malign PTI, nothing else. (sort of like Nawaz Sharif asking to use a 1956 act to investigate Panama)
Now if you can clarify the PROTOCOLS to lay transmission lines, I guess we can have a debate on this.
Re: …And now PEDO falls
Since you insist…
PEDO is authorized to lay transmission lines within the province approval is required only to lay transmission lines or to sell electricity to other provinces
I thought you knew it already…but anyway…
http://www.pedo.pk/Policey/KPK%20Hydel%20Power%20Policy-2016.pdf
Its a long document
Or
Poor PTI…they were victims here…please start blaming feds…punjab…easy way out…
Re: ...And now PEDO falls
Dont have much details but as I read from NET , if the total generated power by these projects is merely less then 50 MW , does not makes sense to lay transmission lines ( even short ) this is not an Elect. Engg. practice..

I have personally managed small green energy projects in India and Central Asia, the CASA-1000 which the current govt is taking credit of, acutally started by Zardari Govt...i was in Tashkent and did few feasibility studies there, Russians, Chinese, Turks anfd Iranians to some extend have control over the rivers/hydro prjects there...
i was trolling with Silaj here, he was blaming NTDC/feds for laying transmission line and that is for the projecy which are even less than 25 MW and some are as small as 500 KW...but now i have given him something serious to read...
Anyway, laying transmission line is not the problem in the article...the problem is corruption...which has been totally ignored by respected member

As mentioned in the article above, the production is 400 MW, and since they are hydro projects, prospects for expansion are huge. So yes, it makes sense to lay transmission lines to the grid (if at all the govt is interested). Secondly, a unified transmission line can serve several different plants, since most of these plants are in close proximity to each other. Finally, this is a domestic source, so its a one time investment with a life time return.

Local transmission lines is in the provincial domain, and these plants are already providing off grid electricity to the local population. There are plenty of shows done on this already. The issue is transporting this power to the national grid. While individually their output may be low, collectively, as I said before, it is a long term investment with major possibility for expansion, as they are run of the river projects. A collective infusion of 400MW as mentioned in the article you quoted above is not pocket change. (According to Kh. Asif, the total production increase in the past 3 years has been some 300 odd MW.)
And yes, there may be an element of corruption as well, but the major issue is the department's resistance to restructuring of PEDO. The govt employees who are used to eating haram, do not want reforms in PEDO, and for that reason, they are flinging mud at the attempt being made by the govt.

Corruption is deep rooted in this country, and to expect it to go away in a flash is a pipe dream. But to ignore the main reason for the resignation is also petty.
I have read the letter. Most of it was published in english news papers. The letter talks of issues with management, but I did not see a single mention of 'corruption'. Jang is not exactly known for its independent stance. It is a biased, and politically aligned paper, and we all know it.
Re: ...And now PEDO falls
^^^
True that....
Iam saying it from the beginning...
There is nothing wrong these guys were bought by NS...hence resigned....
PTI can never do wrong....

But in Punjab it is said "KaaN chhita hay" "crow is chitta" ....so yeah....
Now u may know the reason i didnt post the protocols of transmission line earlier....it is also called Itmaam-e-Hujat....
All the idiots like Justice Wajih and chairman nab and these 7 super idiots...didnt quit or thrown out on corruption...it was management issue...
Desert bird to bdnaam hay faqt...
