Thank God…Ajit Agarkar, our ace fast bowler, has been picked for the One-Day series.
After the utterly disappointing performance of Munaf Patel, Sreesanth, Pathan and RP Singh, I sure had started missing Agarkar.
I also saw no point in trying out VRV Singh or Nabi when we have a seasoned and a proven performer in Ajit Agarkar.
I would take this opportunity to congratulate the selection committee for this very smart decision. I am sure Flintoff, Pietersen and Co are shaking in their pants at the news of Agarkar’s selection.

You gotta be kidding me?? Munaf Patel and Sreesanth performing bad according to you? I thought they both did brilliant so far in the test series??
Agarkar has been hammered lately by both Pakistan and SL and I'm not sure if that's a good move by BCCI.
Oh well, let's see how Flintoff smashes him to the ropes...LOlz..

I sat at ease in my work chair, read out first post and started laughing (alongwith letting out those deep inner sighs), with hands over my face, not at the content written (sarcasm well noted) but the fact that the desi mindset can never seem to think outside the box, as the frustration levels arises from both sides of the camp and which increases to all new heights. Believe me, Some1 Jee, as much as I am disappointed at our selection committee for bringing back Arshad Khan (and that too, in his prime), the general aggravation and annoyance enlarges when one continuously sees the likes of Agarkar (and Sami) in the team for one God forsaken reason or another. At one time Agarkar was regarded as the next India's fast-bowling prospect (and so has been Sami, if I gather correctly), but the past is the past. Roll over those pages in history and start building a team for the future, will you? Agarkar is past, Zaheer is present and Munaf is the future. Look towards the present and pave towards the future.
I am baffled by the selection committee. Absolutely no clue why is he picked once again, for the sake of pete.

You know I am as baffled as you are. If the likes of Agarkar can make a comeback in team, than our Sami bhai defiinitely deserves a chance. (HELL NO!!)
Anyhow, I agree with you that Munaf Patel definitely has a future for India and given the right grooming, he'll be the star "fast" bowler from India. Plz. note I said "fast", not "medium" fast as compared to Zaheer or Pathan. But Cricket needs to be played in present tense not past or future tense. Yea, it's always useful to keep in mind about the future and past but to make them part of present is absolutely useless. There's a famous saying:"Worry most about today. Yesterday is history and tomorrow isn't born yet." So worring more about future than present presents big time problems as we see what happened in WI cricket.

Well Monaf and Sreesanth are already in team aprt from Pathan and RP. I dont know why we need fifth bowler. Even if we do why not Zaheer or VR Singh.

May be is all-rounding capabilities are needed badly, perhaps they were tossing between Agarkar and Ganguly :)
Supposedly there was a comment he made regarding Zaheer khan in response to a question. Something like ‘Check stats’ I wonder if any journalist had the presence of midn to throw that comment on his face regarding Agarkar’s selection.

Yes...Nehra's services is urgently required to throw some maa-behan gaalis in the direction of Dhoni.....the guy bungled such an easy stumping chance of Flintoff yesterday that it would even embarass Boycott's Grandma.
