Anarkali Video- Finally on Prime

and now that prime’s got it…muziq.net got it as well.

all the praise that i heard and all the hype the video more than lived up to it. It’s just splendid. And the video doesn’t end when the song ends. Video starts with Mughal-Lahore 1599, then after the song Akbar’s death and Salim’s marriage is shown and then the present day Lahore. Taj Mehel, Shahi Qila, sets, wardrobes, camera work and Iman Ali …everything is top notch.

all i’d say is that words can’t even begin to describe what Shoaib Mansoor has created. You gotta see it to believe it.

This is the best video I've ever seen.

When do they show this on Prime? Anyone know the program in which they will show it? I wanted to record it at digital quality and show it to friends...

Re: Anarkali Video- Finally on Prime

Definitely! :k:

It was unbelievably well done :k: rele enjoyed it!!

I saw it toooo :)

simply mezmarising. gr8 acting by all of the ppl in the video. the story is well portrayed. shabnam majeed did a splendid job in penning this ghazal perfectly i’m beginning to admire her singing more and more, she has a beautiful voice.

wat a misra, :k: 1 of the best verses in this song>>>>>>

  • zindagi hatho sai jaa rahei hai, shaam sai pehle raat aaa rahi hai, sahib-e-alam kaha rokai hou, kali tumhari phurja rahi hai, jatai jatai huway bee gaaa rahi hai. ishq muhabat apna pann bas ishq mohabat apna pan.. *

the Titleof the album is = Supreme Ishq II - Anarkali , there are various artists in this album and if one listens to the album in Sequence, the whole Story of Anarkali is told.

p.s " i felt sorry for anarkali in the video being buried alive, jalalludin mohammed akbar u rascal :mad2: :teary1: , i have never felt so emotional after listening to a paki song before.

when was it shown? :crying:

#let uz chat# -dont get so emotional man :halo: I dont think anarkali’s story is true, so dont get so upset with Akbar :stuck_out_tongue:

well…i saw it last night.i think rite before or after khabrain…

rele passo…i thought it was based on truth…at least thats what i’ve been told :konfused:

amazing..truly amazing :k:..

hmmm...nice....

well i have listened to the song and i have alwayz admired shabnam majeed’s voice, but still haven’t seen the video can’t wait to watch it. i’m a bit confused there is a girl called mehak ali which is in the drama aik love story is that the 1 in shabnam majeed’s video or is it iman ali abid ali’s daughter.

it's Iman Ali in both the play and the song's video.

actually, there is a lot of cloudiness surrounding this story. the common story is that anarkali (literally pomegranate bud) was actually named Nadira and was a dancer at the palace of the Mughal Akbar. His son Saleem (later known as Jahangir) fell in love with her and wanted to marry her. Akbar had her killed (literally built alive into a wall) to spite him. Other versions say that she was actually married to Akbar and Saleem had an affair with her; later Akbar found out. The official scribe of the court, Abu Fazl, has written some details about this potential conflict but nowhere in history is the name "Anarkali" mentioned. Adding more confusion is a Persian couplet inscribed on the site of her supposed tomb, purported to be written by Saleem where he expresses his love in a beautiful way:

Ta qayamat shukr goyam kard gar khwish ra
Ah! gar man baz beenam rui yar khwish ra
(Ah ! could I behold
the face of my beloved once more;
I would give thanks unto my God
Unto the day of resurrection).

No matter what is true, the story is a fascinating one that has confounded us for years and will continue to do so. I recommend "Mughl-e-Azam" starring Dilip Kumar, which is about this story but also takes liberties.

This also appears at the end of this video you all are referring to I believe.

haanji bachpan se hum bhee yahi sunte ayay haen k anarkali ko zinda pathar kee deewaar mein chunwa dya gya tha

see guys! didn't i tell you the video is just EXTRA ORDINARY! perhaps the best ever in pakistan so far. Hats off to Shoaib Mansoor.

TUMS,
you're right about the confusion. and the Persian verse that you wrote, which is also shown to be inscribed on Anar kali's alleged tomb in lahore infact does exist, but no doubt there has been serious mingling of fcat and fiction. the verse according to a book on mughal history that my dad read recently, says that Jehangir married some more that 10 women during his lifetime and one of his wives, whom he was much fond of fell ill in lahore and died there, leaving jehangir much distresed and heart broken so he ordered a tomb to bb built over her grave and had those verses inscribed on the tombstone of her grave. People have mixed anarkalis story, which very much seems to be only a story since no historian has ever mentioned it, with the actual facts regarding the grave of one of jehangiur's wives who is burried somewhere in lahore, probabaly a section of the Punjab secratariet.
