Yes thats right,It took me very long to learn the proper contouring and highlighting, I am still learning. You need someone expert to make you understand different techniques that you otherwise cannot discover by your own or it takes very long. But trust me identifying your eye shape and eyeshadow application or eyeliner is no big deal. Its just practice and youtube tutorials are so well explained.
For Anam bridals, I seriously never understood whats the exclusivity ? All her brides(no matter mehndi barat or valima or enegagement) have the same extreme highlighted glowy nose and cheeks ans almost same eye shadows for all eye shapes. In her Makeup artistry classes pictures, some of the girls look very nice but some makeovers are seriously terrible to look at and funny to see they actually believe they have learned something which looks nice on them.
Every face has its own unique facial features, it may be your eyes, your lips, your face cut, your brows that should be capitalized and enhanced to achieve the perfect look for you. Someone may not pull off a smokey eye or a red lip or a bronzy look as good as other
Oh wow, what an eye opener guys! I have to admit I initially really liked the bridal photos she would upload but recently they all look pretty much similar, lots of highlighter and lots of photoshop. What really amazes me is her "cult" like following, "oh Anam, youre so wonderful, youre so fantastic, I love your makeup blah blah blah". She comes across quite show offy, bragging about her various shopping trips to London all paid for courtesy of her sub standard training courses.
I was pretty shocked to read some of the comments here since I have personally met her and booked both my shaadi and valima makeup with her so I thought I would comment here. I have had experiences with diva makeup artists who have been extremely rude to me and I'm sure everyone has had some experience with someone and is free to share but directly attacking someone as a showoff or saying she uses so and so regarding her trips is a bit personal and distasteful. From what I know she comes from an extremely wealthy family which is why her studio is at her own premises, her father being one of the top most government officials in the country (there is so much crazy security outside her place)and she has always been that way so I'm pretty sure she isn't dying for 20k. Could possibly also account for her being a bit rude/iffy but she was not rude to me at all. If anyone had an issue they should have directly spoken to her rather than posting online as I highly doubt it would make her do anything or even read it. I personally know a lot of people who have had amazing experiences with her and 98000+ people are not mad and I did go through her makeup classes album after this, have to say neither are the unaccountable girls who have written very good reviews about them. Also, you can see photos clients have submitted, not taken by herself, on her page wall which prove there are loads of satisfied customers. Right now she has a lot going on for her which might be why certain people are feeling the need to add in their 2 cents without even meeting her/knowing her. And as for Saba Ansari at Sabs, everytime I have met her she has been nice to me, always smiling though her services are not personalised at all and I only like qadirs makeup there. If saba ansari slapped her driver or her maid or her daughter, it is her personal life and she will be accountable for it.
Slapping someone says a lot about them, ofcourse they'll smile to you and at you at their own salons..you've come to them for services. How a person treats a driver, maid says alot about their nature. If she (Saba) couldn't treat a human like a human just because he was a driver and not a wealthy MNA ka beta is a good enough reason for me to avoid going to her salon or get services done by her.
^slapping someone on the street does not make it one's personal business. It shows character how you treat people who are less privileged than you are. So you could be the person being slapped at any given point in time by someone like Sabs.
Most of the time, these makeup artists are good to you if they know you are wealthy / foreigner or just wont take their bull****. This group is always a minority. Rest of them just have to take it.
Yes some people voice their opinion but they are humiliated instantly. The OP has written a very polite feedback, I don't see anything wrong with it. Obviously these are her personal comments. It is for us to read and make informed decisions. Not jump down her throat.
The problem is most of these people are just spoilt brats !! Fame can do things to people you know. Specially in a developing country , where a little fame means you start acting like a demigod.
If Anam were a professional , she would have not removed these comments from her page. There was nothing insulting about it. Rather if she would have explained t the OP that mayb the OP expected too much , or any other explanation then your comment would have made sense. But when you take 20,000 from some one and provide them false information as to what they will be getting out of this 20,000 then you better learn to deal with the backlash.
If your bank made a fradulent investment on your behalf, but someone else gained from the same bank, should that person come up to you and say " but it was fine for me , just let it go" is that ok wid you ????

Just to answer the bits in bold...
Why am I supposed to care what sort of family she comes from? She says this on her page a lot as well, and I really don't see the relevance. She's started a business, and I'm holding her accountable to her business philosophy, not how much money she already has, if she's just doing this for fun, or if she really needs the money. I don't care about any of those things, what I care about is what I'm getting for the money I've paid her.
I did speak to her personally and was very rudely spoken to in reply. I also tried to speak to her manager who never came in after the first day where she collected everyone's money. I left my phone number and a direct request to be contacted but never was. I then posted a complaint on Anam's page too, and was promptly deleted and blocked. I feel deceived by all of the glowing reviews I read about her classes, and I think it's only fair that people should be aware that there could be a dark side to the whole process as well. I'm certainly not stopping anyone from going to her studio.
Also, why do you think it's okay for her to not read/respond to a review? I would think she would be concerned about her clientele's satisfaction, no?
I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but if you're saying that girls have only posted good reviews on Anam's page, then you've just proven my point. Not everyone has an amazing experience, and with what happened to me, I think it is fair to guess that bad reviews have been deleted immediately.
I'm saying all of this after taking a 5 day course with her, so you may rest assured that I don't have a personal vendetta where I'm trying to take Anam down. I would have posted a review singing her praises if I'd gotten my money's worth, because I feel that good work and business ethics should be praised. If I find professionalism lacking, however, I'm certainly going to make my voice heard about it.
I don't think its anyone else's problem if she is so and so's daughter or has a lot going for her. That's her personal business and needs to stay that way.
Paying customers are not paying money so they can sympathize with her and become a part of her life. Why would that even matter?
They pay for a service which equals prompt delivery of those services. If she makes a commitment then she needs to make it happen. Being nice and accomodating is a part of all that.
Its lack of work ethic and of course below average customer service...all of which is just ghetto.
The more that comes out about this girl’s personality and work ethic, the less prettier her makeup seems. And her cult following of staunch supporters is downright scary
If there was a blizzard and she was late...I get it. If she was sick and had to cancel the course...I get it. If she had a family emergency that prevented her from being there...I'd still get it.
But you're there. And you don't care that people have paid to learn from you.
If someone has paid you, come* aandhi come toofan *you are supposed to be there. If someone has paid you, you are responsible for what they learn as they will carry your name and certificate. You see only rave reviews because like the OP said.. the negative reviews and feedback are promptly deleted. Would make-up artists such as Anam and Saba throw a tantrum if a student was ever late? Yes they would. She is IG Sindhs' daughter, that makes no difference to any of us but if she's taking girls to a MAC store and saying she gets a certain percentage off and cheating them, she obviously isn't too straight and needs it.
Slapping a 'common man' for driving a little slow infront of your guard laden Tundra beast doesn't make it 'personal' it shows how you are with people that aren't your customers or clients and whom you won't get anything out of.

For someone who's only booked her for her shaadi and valima makeup, you sure know a lot about her life and how "she's always been". You've never posted on GS before, this is your first post and it's dedicated to defending Anam. You sure you're not her? :p
Jk, don't kill me. This is a public forum, and people have the freedom to discuss their experiences, both good and bad. No one would take the time out to write about it unless they felt strongly about it. Therefore everyone's opinion should be respected. You had a good experience, well then, you're lucky.

Anam posting on GS... first post here and defending ANAM.
I dont like her makeup at all. Isn't she a medical student as well? i wonder how she has time to do both. but anyway, i have read many bad reviews of her on facebook. there is a facebook group for all pakistani MUA reviews and she had alot of bad reviews on there.
bina khan's makeup is alot better although i wouldn't pick her for bridal makeup as i think its too light for traditional bride, but her makeup techniques are flawless. i think if someone is interested in learning professional makeup, they should learn from her. my friends took classes from her, even though shes also kinda rude, her makeup techniques are flawless. shes an expert in blending, contouring, subtle glow and highlight.
