I’m not trying to ask controversial questions deliberately. I seriously have wondered about this question and I wanna know. Even though I don’t really care whts haraam and whats not, ‘someone’ I know does.
Any manoevre or position that adds to the pleasure of the sexual encounter between husband and wife is permissible and commendable. One exception is anal intercourse, which is forbidden in Islam. A man may get to his wife from her behind, provided the male organ is introduced in the vagina and not in the anus. This was clearly indicated by the Quran and the Sunna- The Quran says:
"Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when and how you will" (2:223)
The similie on this verse makes intercourse similar to agriculture, entailing putting the seed into the soil in the hope of getting the fruit; and this does not apply to anal sex.
Several prophetic traditions forbid the practice of anal sex:
"Do not visit women into their back passages" (Ahmad, Termizi, Ibn Magah)
When the jews of Madina argued with some muslims and said that vaginal coitus approached from behind would cause the baby to have squint in his eyes, the prophet denied this and said:
"From behind or from the front as long as it is in the vagina." (Muslim and Abu Dawood)
"Cursed he. ..who has sex with a woman through her back passage." (Ahmad)
Any manoevre or position that adds to the pleasure of the sexual encounter between husband and wife is permissible and commendable. One exception is anal intercourse
but why is this an exception? It adds to the pleasure of the sexual partner. It should be permissible :(
Logic is prety simple most women dont like it because it is painful. So islam has forbidden it, simply because islam is very considerate to women so it should be no surprise that it is not allowed . So take heart. Apart from this , almost all kind of sexual pleasures for husband and wife are allowed in islam.
I hope your question has been answed and required reference are provided in post 5 .

correct me if i'm wrong, the reason you've given are man made reasons. As in they are not devine (not in quran or hadith), right? I mean to ask is that, we can not be sure if this is 'the' reason why it was forbidden but this seems logical, right?

Anal sex in my opinion is the creativity of the human mind, and is not an instinctive impulse... keeping that in mind, let's view two verses:
2:222 And they ask you about menstruation? Say: "It is harmful, so retire yourselves sexually from the women during the menstruation, and do not approach them until they are cleansed. When they are cleansed, then you may approach them as God has commanded you." God loves the repenters and He loves the cleansed.
How has He commanded
2:223Your women are a cultivation for you. So approach your cultivation as you wish towards goodness. And be aware of God and know that you will meet Him, and give good news to the believers.
It is only natural... if you disagree with it, then it's up to you. And I do not see how you are missing out by not having anal sex. I mean what's the reason?? Apologies to all the unmarried people here!
Note to the "same sex" incliners:
004:015 And the two women who commit lewdness, you shall bring four witnesses over them from amongst you; if they bear witness, then you shall restrict them in the homes until death takes them, or God makes for them a way out.
004:016 And the two men who commit it from amongst you, then you shall annoy/punish them. If they repent and amend, then leave them alone. God is Redeemer, Merciful.
"Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when and how you will" (2:223)

If what you are saying is true, oral sex and withdrawing before ejaculating would also be forbidden, no?
Respected Brother-in-Islam Assalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullaahi Wa Barakaatuhu It is reported from Ibn Abbaas (Radhiallaahu Anhu) that Hadhrat Umar (Radhiallaahu Anhu) had intercourse with his wife through rear entry (not anal entry). Later, he was overtaken with the thought that perhaps he had committed an undesirable act. Immediately, he rushed off to the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) calling out, 'I have been destroyed, I have been destroyed!' He was asked what was the matter, to which he recounted his fear of having committed an undesirable act. The prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) remained silent, giving no answer. Sometime later, these Aayaats of the noble Qur'aan were revealed: 'Your wives are a tillage (farm) unto you, thus approach your tillage from wherever you wish.' (Baqarah Aayat223). Thereafter, the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) explained the meaning of the Aayat by saying that, 'Intercourse in the Vagina is permissible in any position which one desires to adopt.' From the front or rear, so long as intercourse during menstruation and anal sex does not take place, for these are Haraam. (Tafseer Fathul Qadeer; Shawkaani). >From the above, we understand that the husband may approach his wife from the front, sides or rear whether in a supine position or squatting, all are permissible, as long as intercourse takes place in the vagina, and not in the anus. and Allah Ta'ala Knows Best Mufti Ebrahim Desai
