Hi Haris,
the book (and more specific the article written by Dr. Raffat parveen Khan) I would like to get my hands on was recommended by Fatima Da Silva Gracias. She wrote the article (which can be found on the internet; it is a PDF file) 'Goans away from Goa - Migration to the middle east'.
The reason why I would like to read this old article (written in 1980) is that I am doing some research to possibly write a book. You see, my greatgrandfather was the founder of Ilaco, he was the one responsible for Duarte Mansions in Karachi (his name is Laurenco Caetano Duarte). In 1995 I visited Pakistan for the very first time and somehow fell in love with Karachi. Don't ask why, I just like this strange, peculiar city of dust. I mostly stayed in Manghopir where I was doing some voluntary work in the leprosy hospital overthere.
For the moment I am (fingers crossed) hoping to get a positive answer from a local publisher to be able to go to Pakistan in july-august 2008 because I would like to write a book about Pakistan. This time a book which focusses on real people and to show the west that the country is far more than only taliban and al qaeda. On 1st of july I will definitely know if I will be able to do so and get funds to do so :)
Perhaps some historians might know more about the article, but unfortunately I don't know any. So if you can help me, please do so :biggthumb
