Here i want urs precious suggestions/ advices, i am soon going to start designing business Inshallah for specially export basis
dresses will be including mostly semi formal theme that gives girly n stylish looks
all i want to figure out that what shud be the price range (Including shipment)that ppl can easily afford there (middle East/ US/UK etc), as i my self preffer the “Cheap & Best” policy and wud like to give the same services to my customers aswell.
I belive georget & Schefon are the best materials for formal and semi formal dresses
what else…?
If its semi-formal light wear then it should be within the range of 2000-10000 PKR for the middle east.
since people aren’t going to buy much if its higher than that since we already have desi shops in the middle east.
About the UK & US i do not know.
here in houston we have the biggest desi clothing store in north america known as roop saree palace. we have a ton of things to chose from but unfortunately some of these store a complete rip off. for example here’s a lengha i had purchased a few years ago:
it’s a mermaid cut lengha and they tried to sell it to me for 400 but since i was a good customer and i kept harassing them i walked out for 230, no tax because i paid in cash.
now if you go to stores in town for a mermaid lengha with work on the top and bottom front and bacl (usually the back is not as done as the front) anyhow the prices are like 200-500 and they love to lie and say this lengha was from this soap or this movie or this designer and when you ask them for proof of the designer they can’t do ****. like this place called dolly’s boutique in town, what a rip off.
also the cost of anarkalis are around 300 (saheli’s price) -120 (pahlki’s price)
but most anarkalis are around 150 i just so happened to know the models for the store and got it for 120 but the tag said 195
god i thought they were so ugly.. and the kurti top in the middle was being sold for 280 because it’s designer and our earrings were heavy and 80 but not nearly cute enough for $80
Thanks dear for sharing ur experience, well wot i’ve observed that ur sis lehenga is not worth as she has paid, we can get much more better stuff here in that range, but yes u have no choice in houseton except some of the boutiques, i can understand that as i have too faced these difficulties wen i was abroad,
I will post my design pic once i upload them (hopefully)
They are nice but not too unique. I would rather buy something unique from a designer. Otherwise I can just order through family if its just ordinary designs.
Thanks chameli for ur intreast,
I have some new different designes aswell but they are in making progress right now and are at worksop, so i couldnt get time to take their pics, i will upload those pics aswell once i get them
