Few days ago, I was going through a bottle sadaqah where we drop our loose change frequently. I was looking for old coins (U.S.). There were couple of hundred pennies. I was looking for any that might from the 50’s and say the words, “ONE CENT”. Many of you may have seen those before.
So, here I was sitting going through pennies from 1950’s and earlier and all other coins looking for any prior to 1969 and earlier. I saw this one coin with a different design. For a second I thought that it might be Mexican or Canadian. Upon closer look… I was like… What! I had never seen a coin like this before nor I knew these existed.
I wonder if there are other rupia coins. This one is dated 1998. Can any one tell when this/these coins came out?
I remember when I went to Pakistan I went for some shopping the first time and came back puzzled from the shop. The one rupee note was like ....... lopped off, seems like. It was shorter by ~25-30%%? Looked tiny.
:) Interesting! 2 rupee note? Was there a two rupee note? it didn't exist in '82 when I went to Pakistan..... ,I think, but then I was there for only 2 weeks. I might not have come across it.
Right now, with this being the only Pakistani coin I have, it's with my other old coins that I have begun to collect.
Are there any other rupee coins besideds the Rs. 1.00 and Rs. 2.00 coins?

GS - Thanks for the info. I was just talking to my sister-in-law about 30 mins ago and telling her my story about this coing. She told me that there is a Rs. 5.00 coin too. We talked about some of the coins I remember … like 5 paisa coin… and that 10 paisa one! I don’t remember the 1 paisa… don’t know if it’s the same or not… or if they even have it.

My Dear, As I collect currency and COins I have even coins many ppl wont even know abt....
I have ONe Paisa that has the HOLE in it :) I have a good collection.
I will scan it when I come to home back... Right now I am Out of COuntry... May be back till the Strat of next month.... :) Inshallah
