People shmeple - Muniya dear - you do whatever you want to do. I made my bedroom my santuary. I had so many visitors and my policy was they could whatever in the rest of the house *they want but my bedroom and bathroom was off limits. I locked the door everytime I went in and out. *
I had guests/relatives over that I haven't seen in 10 years.
The intial days with the baby are tiring so if someone tells you pick after yourself - you tell them that if it's bothering you - please do it themselves. :)
