Two legends of PTV
Behroz Sabzwari and Mehmood Ali (Marhoom)
Behroz has changed little over the last 40 years or so
one of the evergreen personalities of Pakistan Television :k:
This is a screen shot taken from the drama “Mirza Ghalib Bandar Road par”
I think it aired sometime in the early 70’s
Arjay Bhai can perhaps provide more in-depth info about this drama
and these 2 gentlemen
Strange that you directed my attention here----because I was present in the recording of this epic—which created ripples around the Nation—having created records of re-runs on stage throughout Pakistan—that I was so amazed to meet Khawaja Moinuddin Sahab with my Dad…long time back.
BEHROZE was a puppoo—when he did this play from stage to TV and he played a newspaper boy—selling paper and earning his living and acted wonderfully well…though a bit of hiccup here & there–but all well controlled.
BEHROZE’ mentor in this play was–indeed–Mahmood Bhai (Allah bakhshay) and i do but remember that Behroze had to really really keep his cool on consisting thrashing he use to get from Qazi, Mahnood Bhai, Zafar Siddiqi, Subhani Ba’Yunus and of course Bakhtiar Ahmed (later Producer) who portrayed Pathan’s role (depicted as a satire to Ayub Khan..and his dictatorial role in Pakistan)…
I used to know him...that guys head is to big for his body...i mean the so called fame (whatever little bit of it he has got) has gone into his head...and i had a fight with him...now don't say he's nothing like that...because that would be untrue!
