An obscene Questionnaire?

A tricky question here..I can understand how this issue would offend many people..but it’s overkill to blacklist the NGO..

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry for Social Welfare and Special Education has blacklisted a non-government organisation (NGO) for distributing an ‘obscene’ questionnaire in schools and has ordered the NGO to immediately abandon its projects. Well-placed sources told Online news agency that Rozan, an NGO working for violence against children, had been issued a show-cause notice for circulating a survey form containing objectionable questions among students, such as had they been sexually assaulted and whether they had had relations with members of the opposite sex. Sources said Rozan has been asked to abandon its ongoing projects intended for improving children’s emotional health and fighting sexual abuse against children, especially in the remote areas of the country. onlineDailytimes

Re: An obscene Questionnaire?

Dont ask dont tell, sweep it under the rug and keep the retrogressive literal mullah happy, surrounded by his little victories which ultimately become big defeats for his country. They actually asked them to abandon their on going projects! Truly sad.

Re: An obscene Questionnaire?

What's with asking if they've ever been sexually active or not? Our religion says if someone ends up sinning they are supposed to be keep it a secret.

I can understand the rape/sexual molestation questions if anything good were to come out of it but I doubt it, it's Pakistan, saara sytem hi kharaab hai, just as Mukhtar Mai didn't get justice other girls wont neither.

It'll be easier for them and their families to just brush it under the carpet for now, I know that sounds retarted but we need to put our wishful thinking aside and remember this isn't the UK it's Pakistan, we need to concentrate on our most immediate needs first and then move on to these issues, they deserve attention but we have more serious problems to tend to 1st.

Questionairre should be anonymous - it probably was too. So that should not be an issue.

With that defeatist attitude, no wonder Pakistan isn't getting anywhere.

So what is more important than the basic rights of a significant and innocent percentage of the country?

Re: An obscene Questionnaire?

having sex with animals [dogs or cows i guess] is pretty soon too....

i dont get this on one hand there is a black list on the other hand woman who gets raped gets punished. System is compeletely screwed up. This will never get fixed unless those abused victim do smething about it.

A man does it you chop of once and for all. He is a desi man wont run to a media his mardangi will be gone.

Re: An obscene Questionnaire?

NOT SOON… Its Happening…

Re: An obscene Questionnaire?

The NGOs are trying to expose the sex related crimes happening in Pakistan which are never revealed. And there are these people who want to burry the truth in the grave. So sick.

Re: An obscene Questionnaire?

I don't get how people can be almost indifferent to the overwhelming lack of human rights for victims of rapes and honor killings, but can work themselves into a state of fury over stuff like the washington post cartoon.

Re: An obscene Questionnaire?

I would assume it must have been the pressure from the parents to stop that. Not because they have been molesting their children and trying to hide it under the carpet, but because of the thinking that exposing children to sexual knowledge which they might not have, will effect the children adversely.

I do not think the desicion has anything to do with the religion, it is more to do with moral structure of the society. I quote, "especially in the remote areas of the country". Especially, in remote areas people try to keep the children away from any sexual knowledge.
