Very informative, but I have two problems with this:
They don’t define “migrants”. Are people going to other countries on temporary work visas also counted in that? Seems like it. Look at the Middle East, I think they are counting work visa holders in this also.
I wish there were arrows pointing where these migrants were going.
Pakistan shows -248,000. That’s the number of people who have left between 2000-2005
Why does Oman show a negative number? I thought Oman was rich?
Re: An interesting interactive map showing Global Migration
its nothing to do with richness of the country.. people are moving for employement, better life and more money. these people don't want to stay there for thier life and their faith is always with their parent country. they always want to come back to their roots.
in fact in many contries, they are contributing to GDP to a large extent
Re: An interesting interactive map showing Global Migration
Interesting...
People are actually entering Afghanistan! Surprising...
In Europe, Spain has more people entering then England!
And India actualy has almost equal amounts of people leaving as Pakistan...
Re: An interesting interactive map showing Global Migration
This is soooo since even better economic conditions don’t even explain that “trend”.
I think it is more of a gimmick by the NATO / US alliance than anything since I know many camps haven’t been closed in pakistan and even there was *****ing about it when Iran wanted to close some DP camps by Afghanistan.
