I write this just as Wahab is out. Two more wickets to go and Misbah can still prove to be a thorn so, let’s hope we WIN this one.
However, as we win this, I humbly request that NONE of us (including myself) in our euphoria, beat the drums in a way that hurts our Pak friends’ feelings.
This match could have gone either way and quite frankly, I did not see the vaunted ‘superiority’ of the Indian team show. In fact lots and lots of chinks.
Therefore please, let us be very sensitive to the Pak fans, who though disappointed, have **every right to be proud of where Pak cricket has come in one short year **from the serious issues they faced.

Re: an important message, particularly to my fellow Indians
Yup this !!! If it had happenned, I’m sure my reaction would have been different.
We should to the idea of re-uniting both countries via a cricket match.
Re: an important message, particularly to my fellow Indians
Pakistan young guns succumbed to the pressure, Gul misfired, Hafeez and kamran....So India won as the better team.
Congratz!
However,I just wonder how it would have been if this Semi Final had been played at Lahore instead of Mohali and Pakistani media had fired away at Indian team 4 days in a row before the match. Oh well.
Re: an important message, particularly to my fellow Indians
I know all Pakistani friends are sad today. for whatever it is worth let me admit this, until the game became technically un-winable for pakistan (around at 2nd ball of 50th over) our hearts were still in distress. We knew victory was not yet ours because we knew pakistani players are very much capable of doing the unthinkable.
Well done team pak.
Re: an important message, particularly to my fellow Indians
^ that's true. I came back from a bunch of meetings to something like Pak down 4 or 5 but Afridi, Razzak and Misbha were still around. each of these guys I recall have taken otherwise winning matches out of us (don't remember when where...) so there was no confidence. Even after afridi got out I wasn't sure but then I wasn't watching the macth - just following score occasionally in cricinfo
But what was becoming clear throughout was that Indians feeling the magic. Not making huge mistakes. They let the run rate attack the batsmen. What they lacked in bowling teeth, they made up for with conservative bowling and fielding
