Re: an eye for an eye..
depends on the situation sumtimes its necessary to do that
i do it sumtimes but mostly i let go
Re: an eye for an eye..
Depending on who it is, I would go for tit for tat.
Re: an eye for an eye..
Depends on the situation. For low crimes (stealing a candy bar, etc), I wouldn't sweat it.
High crimes like murder (in cold blood),etc. Hell yes.
Re: an eye for an eye..
Depends. Usually I just let go. I get bored. ![]()
Re: an eye for an eye..
Depending on What it is... If it is injustice inflicted, then, I just go for eye for an eye, definitely, why not? :)
Re: an eye for an eye..
and eye for an eye will leave the whole world blind
and eye for an eye will leave the whole world blind
What is better? a justice served against the oppressors or being worried about oppressors going blind?
^ laiken what if opressors ko justice serve karte karte..hum khudi blind ho jai?..:(
Re: an eye for an eye..
I keep it simple... I hate to be a victim in any situation so I always get back but when it comes to love or a relationship, I ignore it :)
Re: an eye for an eye..
no i dont...
Re: an eye for an eye..
An eye for an eye and the whole world would be blind :p
Anywayz .. depends on the situation and who it is. I wouldnt say I'm any angel, I do take revenge when I see my chance haha :D ..
Re: an eye for an eye..
an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind - quote by Gandhi
if one is being oppressed..then they should stand up and fight for themselves
Re: an eye for an eye..
"And we prescribe for them therein the life for a life, the eye for the eye, the nose for the nose, the ear for the ear, the tooth for the tooth, and for wounds of retaliation. But whosoever forgives it (in the way of charity), it shall be expiation for him."
(Qur'an 5:45)*
**With all due respect, the Gandhi's quote only looks good in books, but is not applicable in real life where we want the "JUSTICE" to prevail.
Re: an eye for an eye..
an eye for an eye and the whole worlds blind
Re: an eye for an eye..
In 80-90% of cases the line below is the way to go:
"But whosoever forgives it (in the way of charity), it shall be expiation for him."
Most people in this world are quite stupid, hence the need for politicians to lie & decieve in order to keep the peace, many people make mistakes & don't learn from them i.e weak people, as long as they are not being malicious then it's your responsibility to forgive & try to teach the right way.
Dont get me wrong, those that keep pushing, who disregard your rights as a human being, opress, bully & those who are basically asking for it.......humour them & 'give it to them'.........those people do exist & don't deserve your mercy unless they change their actions by changing their thinking & not because they were forced too.
Thinking should always precede actions & not the other way round.
Re: an eye for an eye..
^ Well said. The outcome of one's "reaction" should be for the betterment of the society. On individual level it is always good to forgive and forget for the love of Allah as Allah shows mercy upon those who forgive others. It is better to avoid a revenge which doesn't give any benefit to anyone. BUT in cases of regular criminals who repeatedly hurt people in spite of all the warnings, it is better to set an example out them for all the other criminals in that area.
In short, whatever serves the purpose of PEACE in a society.
