Recently there was a lot bad press about al shabab and hizb ul islam of somalia regarding burning of donated food with typical bias in the reports and statements like “desparation of the islamists” etc. The food burnt was clearly out of date.

Their press release (of course very few news agencies would want to publish it so I cannot find a copy) noted that WFP was inundating market with cheap food during harvest season, hurting the Somalian farmers (same thing happens in Pakistan and encourages farmers to hoard food and raise prices unfortunately) and WFP are warned for not distributing food in Somalia especially during the harvest season.
On a final note, it should be noted that the mujahideen of Somalia have a close cooperation with the doctors of Somalia to ensure any public health issue is addressed in areas under their control such as provision and support of ambulances to minimise civilian casualties often caused by indescriminate fire of AU troops and TFG government troops who are actually becoming desperate (and Ethiopian troops have once again stationed themselves on the border due to their desperation)
