An example of Jang's irresponsible journalism?!

Jang sometimes publish news items attributed to their “foreign desk”. Interesting that we don’t know who exactly are the members of this foreign desk. I think usage of this term is a way of publishing irresponsible stories which nobody wants to attribute to their own name.

Here is one example from today’s Jang:

The heading is “Amreeki media ki Pak fauj ke khilaf zehr-afshani”. Impression is given that ALL or MOST of American media is publishing stories against Pak Army.
This may or may not be true. But they do a very lousy job of proving their point. In the body of the item the discussion is only about ONE article from ONE paper, Wall Street Journal. And yet the “foreign desk” correspondent(s) consider one example enough to throw allegation on the media of the whole country.

This looks like an attempt by Jang to stoke the fire of anti-Americanism in Pakistan. They are just trying to publish what common man wants to read. Their emphasis appear less on objectivity.

Re: An example of Jang's irresponsible journalism?!

wsj is the one of the reputed and leading source ........... if it publishes sth like this it means other media is also the doing the same............ quoting one example may be due to brevity rather than due to irresponsibility.

i dont think the rest of the media like la times, new york times and Washington post does not rate pak army favourably.

i think you have unnecessary tried to make the subject line crispy.
