Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
Maybe you could just pray for them Lazy.
Or, do what they are doing in the other thread and call somebody an A-hole every 5 seconds.
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
that would be rude
I very surprised that the majority of building have been wiped away...just like Hiroshima
anyway, in some news shows, it appears that the brick buildings are still standing...
and the wooden ones just blown away like in the story of the Three little pigs
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
whatare the Americans in the rest of the US doing...
Surely church group have volunteers to help, this is the time when peopel rally round...we havent seen any evidence of this in the UK press
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
^ we dont need your help. Havent you heard our homeland security turned down a canadian relief team for security issues.
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
I think my main concern is the number of rapes of young girls. That's just awful. It seems that the American Gov. is capable of "helping" every other country, but it's own. Sad really.
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
no i hadnt heard ... but it doesnt seem that you are helping your own people
Granted that the majority are black and this is God's way of cleaning up the place a little but i still cant beleive youve let em alone for 5 days or so?
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
Hurricane construction is a special kind of construction. You can't build wood houses in hurricane-prone areas. All of homestead here was wood-based (to some extent in the wall construction). All homes were blown away in Andrew.
Its odd, but the old construction from some decades ago holds well against hurricanes, because the construction materials used are more sturdy.
Ever since these darn home development companies have cropped up, they will construct a home for you that is not durable (especially if you're not watching, and you don't know A, B, C of construction).
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
No, we put the human in humanity, you pasty limey freaks.
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
Pinnyfred...What utter piffle
young man, you have been brainwashed by that nice man Mr Bush
on another note
Do you think Mr clinton would have had the presence of mind to deal with this better?
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
Mt Clinton had a clever wife to tell him what to do
therefore I reckon that he would have been better
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
Let me point something out. Clinton would have been just as aweful. Now, John Adams..mashallah!! :k:
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
Even dumbarse Gore would have been better.
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
did some posts get deleted? Amazing!!!
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
The best way to help is a cash donation to the Red Cross.
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
If that is the case, why is it that you are incapable of communicating without name calling. Not very “humane” if you ask me.
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
It's sad...i hope they can quickly get things up and running. :)
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
LD…Gore wasn’t Clinton’s wife…
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
I think Bush has made a mess of this. Just like Iraq. Always a day late and dollar short. If you are going to do something brave, then do it all the way. Halfassed efforts result in halfassed results.
Re: An englishmans point of view on the New Orleans situation
And why are we known as pasty lookers.
I have been told that by so many others too....
