I want to know how do you understand ‘amr bil ma’roof wa nahi anil munkar’
Give me some examples on what comes under promoting ‘maroof’ & how in your daily life you forbid wrong doing.
No cut/paste please. Use your own words to express what you blieve.
in the simplest sense, tell people to do good....
u see someone doing a wrong thing, tell him to stop....
u advice people to do more good deeds....
what else is there in it????
The Holy Quran:
"Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining Al-Ma'ruf (the good) and forbidding Al-Munkar (the evil). And it is they who are successful." (3:104)
Prophet [sallallahu alayhe wa sallam (SAWS)] said: "If people see Munkar (something forbidden) without attempting to stop it, all of them are liable to an immediate punishment from Allah." (Bukhari)
Prophet (SAWS) said: "A man will be brought and put in Hell and he will circumambulate in Hell like a donkey in a (flour) grinding mill, and all the people of Hell will gather around him and will say to him, 'O so-and-so! Didn't you use to order others to practice 'Amr bil-ma'ruf wa nahy an al-munkar' (Enjoining good and forbidding evil)? That man will say, 'I used to order others to do good but I myself never used to do it, and I used to forbid others from things forbidden while I myself used to do it." (Muslim)
Ok, let me give you guys a few examples and see what you would do in that situation:
You are in a marriage ceremony & you see the hosts doing something that you consider wrong, how would you react?
In another case, you see a woman without burka & you consider it unislamic to be without one, what would you do?
How about a man, who puts a deef ear to Azan & is just sitting there?
