Does your mom wear shalwaar kameez out? I was talking to one of my cousins a few days ago, and she said she never wears shalwaar kameez out because the people always stare at her (she lives in a fancy shmancy snob area =P)
Anyways, my mom wears shalwaar kameez out all the time, and it really doesn’t phase anyone, let alone me and my siblings. But I know some Aunties that never wear shalwaar kameez out and they wear pants and stuff. And I know some desi kids that think it’s like embarassing. I guess there’s nothing wrong in wearing pants and stuff..but I’m proud of my Ammi for sticking with her pretty shalwaar kameezay.
I’m ASSUMING that in areas where their are more wealthy people and stuff, the people star/mind more at people who wear shalwaar kameez. Our local mall isn’t that high-class, and there’s lots of different ethnic groups that go there, so I guess that’s why people don’t mind as much =.

i do too, sometimes i will stick to jeans and stuff but i wear them alot too, i dont get weir looks infact i get complimented on my clothes

I live in a Gora-Town and my mom wears shalwar qameez almost everywhere and instead of getting weird looks she get comments on her pretty dresses. I myself wear shalwar qameez (only in summer) when I go out. Dayum I can't resist jeans in summers for some reason. Cotton shalwar qameez is good in these 2 months (july/august).
