I have some amla powder and i want to use it on my hair. I have no idea how to use it.
With egg or oil??or just make a thick paste with water??or anything else?
Should it be applied every day or??
And should I apply the amla powder on my hair roots and then leave for a day or night or just few hour??
make it into a thick paste with water and apply to the roots rubbing in gently. leave on for 45 mins then wash. you can use a shampoo to wash it off or use a paste of reetha and shikakai herbs to wash it off. some people also mix amla powder with mehendi to color their hair. just make sure you dont pull on your hair while u have amla powder on because hair is very brittle at that point (amla dries on the hair and makes it prone to breakage) so when u're washing it off dont rub the scalp too harshly so u avoid breakage this way.
hmm im gonna try mixing amla powder with oil too...it might make it easier to apply to the scalp.
Take 1Tbs (each) Amla, Areetha and Shikakai and add 1 cup of water. Put this in an iron bowl or a pot and leave it over night. Next day you can use this mixture to wash you hair.
I myself is so sick of all the products so i am using this these days....however i am not using the powder form instead i bought the whole thing and grinding it at home.....its so damn hard to even crush it
well shweet i went to this indian grocery shop and i got it from there....
they had the powder form too but i wanted to be sure that its 100% pure and there no hidden ingre in it
I have tried it in different ways- with water, with oil, with oil and egg. It works good either way. Use a mild shampoo like Johnsons Baby to wash it off if you don't want to with reetha or shikakai, and also make sure your eyes are shut tight when you're washing your hair because if it gets in there, it's gonna make them sting like crazy for hours.
Girls, how do you use amla and ritha? Ritha are hard nuts so how do you exactly grind them at home or how are they supposed to be used?
I've seen fresh amla in Indian grocery stores but I am clueless how they can be used?
i tried using grinder that is used for onion and also tried with coffee grinder but it didnt really work than i used mortar and pestle to crush it into small pieces....
you cant get it into powder forum cuz its so hard but small pieces r gud too.....before washing your hair you can strain the amla/sikakayi/areeta water and use that water to wash your hair. You dont need to use any shampoo afterwards cuz these three ingre works as shampoo & conditioner....
@wishkamar...i dont buy the green ones...i buy the brown and i use hawan dasta...
Is Amla powder the same as bio-amla oil? What exactly is it made of? I love the smell, though i'd never go out in public with my hair covered in bio amla oil...I've used it for mostly hair though. Any other uses for it?
Mix the amla powder in coconut oil and leave it for a week.. then apply it to the roots.. the herbs shud just be applied to the roots and not the entire length of the hair.
Amla, shikakai, reetha and methi (powders) can be mixed in water and applied to the roots.. soak u're hair completely because when the herbs dry-up they tug on the hair.. so wet u're hair completely and use a very mild shampoo (u dont need it since reetha causes lather) and just apply conditioner to the ends of u're hair.
What is better? Amla powder or Amla oil? Because I've only seen oil here :S I want my hairs to be as long as possible, luckily I got thick hairs but the ends need some care I was told Amla is the best oil? I currently use Almond oil.
you should oil your hair once a week but the amla, areeta and sikakaye powder works as a shampoo not as an oil.
if you have split ends.....go for trimming. You should use home made hair mask once a week.
Jazakallah Khair, I’ll do my best, I don’t have that much split ends but my hair tends to be dry so I really dislike that and also my dandruff problem uggh
Nizorol is a great shampoo for dandruff.. u can even use 1 part dettol and 10 parts water.. use a cotton-ball to apply this mixture to u're scalp! Oil u're hair 2-3 times a week.. and "methi" is great for dandruff as well.
