News reports say that he belongs to a “political party”, which in Karachi is a code name for “MQM”. Just like “parrosi mulk” means Bharat.

I won’t be surprised at all if that hired mercenary belongs to MQM. But I think people must realize that law enforcement agencies are not saying that MQM or Altaf ordered the killing. Rather that some people hired an MQM person to kill Sabri for their purpose. Most probably for some dispute related to construction business.

While MQM may not be held responsible for this particular unfortunate murder if someone from their ranks some “freelance” work on his own. But at least the party is responsible for keeping such criminal elements in its ranks, and using them for murdering opponents.
Now these criminals go out of hand of MQM leadership and continue killings for whatever reason. In the past, these MQM criminals have also been hired by extremists like ASWJ and LJ.

This is what Altaf can not comprehend. You can not close it once the Pandora’s Box is opened.

I think the killers decided to kill him in Ramzan for reason. To give it a religious color.
This is also a very typical MQM tactic. They have done many similar false-flag operations in the past. One example being the killing of that innocent MQM worker when Rangers raided 90.

Looks like we were too quick to blame MQM goons.
The police chief Mushtaq Mehar says that the investigation is still continuing and that there had not been any arrest. They also have not released any picture to the press. And then many people have been in custody and then released when found innocent.
So unclear for now.

Looks like everything in the media war based on speculation and wishful thinking.

KARACHI: Karachi police chief Mushtaq Mehar said on Sunday that contrary to media reports and rumours, no arrests had been made in connection with the Amjad Sabri murder case.

Mehar further said that no arrests had been made related to the Amjad Sabri murder case and that with such rumours, efforts were being made to hinder the investigation.

He also disclosed that police had not revealed any suspect’s picture who had been arrested in relation to the case. Mehar said that police had taken into custody several suspects on charges of Sabri’s murder but after no evidence was found, all suspects had been released.
