Hey you guys, i just heard that music maestro Amjad Bobby has passed away, i don’t know whether this is true or not, i wonder if anyone can confirm this. If it is true, then Pakistan has lost one of its best musicians. He made great music for movies like Yeh Dil Aap Ka Hua and Tere Pyar Mein. He will be missed.

LAHORE: Renowned musician Amjad Boby died of cardiac arrest during sleep at his residence. He was 55.
His carrier spanned over 40 years of versatile and classical tunes. His memorable movies included Surgam, Ghoonghat, Qasam, Ghar Kub Aao Gae, Taerae Piyar Mae, Mushkil, Chief Sahib, Bhabi Diyan Choorian and many others.
His four films were still under production, which included Shehzad Gul’s Eman, Javaid Sheikh’s Khulae Asmaan Kae Neechae, Reema’s Koi Tujh Sa Kahan and Javaid Raza’s Koi Piyar Na Kurae.
Boby left behind a daughter and five sons to mourn his death. He was buried at the Wahdat Colony graveyard on Friday evening.
A large number of showbiz personalities, friends and relatives attended his funeral

Now that's really sad news. His earliest hit was the famous Noor Jehan number Hamari aankhon mein aaj tak woh henna ki mehndi ..... I was so amazed when i learnt that Amjad Bobby had composed that amazing number. His passing away is a really big, big loss for the whole music scene in Pak. This guy always made decent and sometimes really awesome tunes. I loved his music in Ghoongat, Deewarein and more recently Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa. He has to his credit the biggest hits in Pakistan and also introduced a number of now well known singers such as Shazia Maznzoor etc.

just for the record : its not amjad bobby who composed that song [hamari sanson mein ajj tak woh] but M Ashraf who is still alive and kicking.
back to the topic, very sad news. he was one of the best known composers and gave countless hits in the last decade or so. one of my fav is [daikha jo chehra tera - ghoonghat]…

^^ Hmmmm...the song I heard through muziqpakistan said it was composed by Bobby. Now that's interesting. Anyway, whoever who made that song has to be brilliant....
Yeah, Amjad Bobby was basically the mainstay for the music of Urdu films, and for the insignificant amount he was paid, he made brilliant stuff....

He was my best friend's dad, a very nice guy, and down to earth despite being so much in demand and how people tend to take things to their head he managed to keep it cool. Probably the only musician i have met in Pakistan (i am a radio presenter) who really had the personality to go with it.
May his soul rest in Peace. Ameen ..
