I’ll save you the trouble janaab… I’m a pretty good “source” when it comes to Big B - Mr. Natwarlal was released in 1979 while Lawaris came out in 1981.

Just to add a bit of information… though it was his singing debut, Amitabh Bachan was nominated as best playback singer (for this song) in the filmfare awards that year.

Another one song that i Like due to its intensity.

Another low profile but high intensity Song (anthem really) sung by him was in the movie. ‘Main Azaad hoon’.

Apparently this is the only song in whole movie… strange for an indian movie It was very interesting movie came out when Amitabh was down and out of industory (Late eighties /early ninties ) but he did superb acting in that movie. The scene where he address the crowd who came to listen to ‘Azaad’ The rebellion. He is an imposter and has to read a written speach but instead he starts talking to people in crowd. How skillfully he delivers the dialogues was marvelous

^ :k: :k: how can I forget that movie… it’s in my top 5 movies of Amitabh - it was just a little ahead of its time.

I’ve written at least half a dozen posts on the movie.

it had a rather inspiring discussion on “aam insaan” and “mamooli insaan”.

I feel like watching the movie again… prolly will do so tonight.

Everythning else was perfect* but his voice does not go well* with this song. It is too masculine for this.
