Amir Sohail and Rameez Raja

Can someone tell them to stop doing commentary now? And that too as full time commentators.

Apart from the fact that they can’t do unbiased commentary, which is so needed at this level, it is also weird listening to the higher ups doing such a lower level job.

I don’t feel like listening to these guys doing commentary now.

I happen to like Ramiz Raja's unique way of commentating!

Yes , I have to say I am not impressed at all . But I'm sure they are doing the best they can :-/

these two are focusing on their commentating more than doing a proper job as selectors...for every good selection amir sohail makes he follows it up with 2 bone headed decisions...and then has a ridiculous reason for doing so...

I agree, not that they are bad commentators, but they are highly ranked PCB officials now, and they need to stick to their main task.
Are these the only 2 guys in Pakistan who can speak english properly?

I don't mind Rameez...he is an educated person and he isn't too much biased like Aamir. I simply cannot stand Aamir Sohail. The guy has no clue what he's talking about and is sooo damn annoying. He really needs to quit.

Absolutely not. I don't know why Zaheer Abbas won't do commentating, but he's fluent in English (writes for Dawn every Sunday), and keeps a keen eye on cricket. He's very critical of Rameez, Aamir, Tauqeer etc.

Rameez Raja is not really “mighty” good at it, while Aamir Sohail makes sure he keeps a finger space between phrases :hehe: Aamir is so annoying as a commentator!

Zaheer abbas ??? fluent in english?? a coupla years back he used to come on ESPN Star sports as a analyst - I remember him quite well..not that fluent in English...

Why do we need English speaking former players for commentry. I mean Majid Khan can speak fluent english but that doesnt mean he will be a great commentator too. Same goes for Imran, I remember him once commentating in Sharjah and he kept refering to Pakistan and "WE" & "OUR". Ofcourse there is nothing woring with that, he is a patriot and this is the way he refers to his national team. Anyone that makes sense is ok. I think Ramiz is not that bad but Amir sucks big time.

Look @ this aspect that Rameez is CEO of PCD and Aamir Sohail is the Cheif of Selection. What ever mistake they commit , they always seem to cover it in their commentary. Before they match, they were praising that GANJA TAKLA son of a b**** I mean son of a general!
They're sure gonna drown our cricket the way they're going. Removing all the senior players and inducting a whole new batch of players who've only had first class cricket experience in Pakistan.... :@
and they always seem to be covering their mistakes while in the commentary box...
By the way guys..what do you think of Sikandar Bakhats commentary :P

You name ONE unbiased commentrator. Can you? Michel Holding? Ravi Shastri? Aasha? Toney? they are always biased if there team is in the ground .

Both guys are doing a great job, firstly as selectors by sacking over the hill world cup flops who have nothing more to offer, secondly with their hard-hitting commentary which is right on the mark. :k:

Sunnil Gavaskar is best comentator so far... He takes a very unbiased approach....

Not when the "little Genius" (sachin) is batting!

I have lost all respect for Amir Sohail after listening to him today and the way he was sucking up to Tauqeer Zia by praising everything Junaid was doing on the field. Sickening.

"writes for Dawn every Sunday"

Somebody else writes for him. Miandad also 'wrote' a book!

You're right to an extent, but the thing is .. it can't get more biased if the persons involved are actually with the team. They could be covering up for some players or whatever, for all we know? No use listening to him then. is there?

Not to get on the case of Rameez and Aamer, but is there any other cricket-playing country whose Chief Selector and CEO of the cricket board are REGULAR commentators for media networks? I mean, giving expert opinions once or twice the match as a guest is one thing, but to actually get paid as a regular commentator is something different. Is Pakistan taking the lead here in this?
