Amir khan?

whatever happened to him? is he still saying hes going to wait for next Olympics?

Huh. How did you manage to delete my posts?

Serious answer. He's fighting live on the BBC on December 3rd in an amateur fight against some American.

Is he allowed to fight though? as in get paid for doing so? im sure, well i was told that he had to save himself for the olympics and shouldn't turn professional..does that make sense?

He can only fight other amateurs at the moment. He gets paid but not as much as the pro's obviously. He says he'll stay amateur until the next olympics but I doubt he'll be able to resist all the money that well be offered to him to turn professional. He is a Paki after all.

I have a feeling hes gona be one of those "one hit wonders"..i didnt think he was that special at all...but bless him for trying.

Then you don't know much about boxing. Not that I'm jumping on the bandwagon because he's a Paki but the fact that at 17 he is even competing with fully grown men is amazing.
Nevermind beating all of them and only losing to the best amateur fighter in the world.

Watch him go when he has fully grown.

and why dont i know much about boxing? because i dont think hes good?..excuse u mrs..i know enough to watch the sport and therefor i know enough to have an opinion.

anyway..shhh

who is he fighting against on 3rd?

Look woman - you didn't even know the difference between amateurs and professionals and how the system works. You probably think the best boxer is the one with the prettiest shorts.

He's fighting some no-name American amatuer but as he's Amir Khan it'll be live on BBC1.

where is the match taking place?

sorry but i cant be bothered to google it

MATCH! MATCH! There is no ‘match’ going on. Its called a fight. Next you’ll be saying he played well, it was an exciting game and so forth.

All details: BBC SPORT | Boxing | Khan supports mixed boxing shows

match/fight, same difference

u men have too many labels for the same thing!!

anyway..thanks for ur help

Did anyone watch the fight???
i missed the damn thing, caught about 2 seconds of the last round...

Does anyoone know if it'l get repeated?..if so..when?

The video of his interview after the fight.

I watched the interview and the discussion bit in the studio afterwards..some guy was going on about how he has "ring rust"..how pathetic?...i cant believe i missed it though...im really gutted..do you know if the bbc are repeating it?

thanks for the link though

Repeat 11.35 on BBC1 tonight.

As the great philosopher and thinker of our time Ja Rule once remarked 'Where would you be without me'. Sort of.

I'd probably have to kill myself without u or ja rule...

thanks for info love

we can discuss the "match" once iv seen all of it

although still a ametuer i believe the money is too good in pro league and promoters like frank warren will want to cash in on him, he just beat a american who was dissing aamir before the fight, now he can dis this defeat! haha in ur face u obese yank.

i believe aamir alongside matthew pinsent has a good chance for sports personailty of the year award. + this kid is going places he’ll be better than prince naz and a real hope for the brit asians come on son show em’ how to kick some royal a$$.

pakistan paindabad :jhanda:

Good fight...Amir Khan fought really well and won with a 22 point lead.

I don't think he will get sports personality though... it will be Kelly Holmes.

Ok..iv changed my mind abt this kid..i thought the match brilliant..i kinda forgotten how good boxing actually was..2 men beating each other up without a woman needing to take her shoes off...

He fought really well and definatly deserves credit..i just hope he doesnt let off too much steam before it actually matters. You really do forget he's only 17 years old.

i like this kid - good attitude, lethal skills.

looks like he is going to keep rising. it would be an utter shame if his career fizzles out before turning pro. i don't see that happening.
