they make me look skinner and weird like i have a baby bump to hide and i also hate the paneled shirts too.
i am waiting for the above the knee length shalwar kameezes to make a come back .I think they looked pretty. And anarkali dresses with churidars were better and more feminine than whats in now.
i hate the stupid kapray in my wardrobe.
rant over.
I totally agree! The current fashion looks like maternity wear. I keep trying to get the A-line kameezes cinched or tailored at the waist to make them look more flattering. I’ve added dorees to the backs of some kameezes to make it look more fitted.
I don’t mind the long length, but I hate the to-the-ankle length look. I wore a kameez the other day and an aunty actually lifted the daman up to make sure I was wearing trousers underneath
Girl on ice: well for namaz i always keep a spare chadar( hugeeeeee) to cover me up.I dont trust my kapray anymore even the lawn ones are see through in light.blagh.
See thats what i am talking about. i got a few latest stuff ,A line kameezes and even when they are fitted they look odd on me. And paneled stuff is just a waste of fabric.
The girls who are slightly chubby can pull this stuff off well but tall+skinny look like a hanger holding fabric. I havent gone crazy for the ankle length thing.I would instead get a pretty dress if i want something of that sort.
Lesson for life: stay away from aunties who want to check out what fabric one is wearing.
I dunno, im scared of trying that frock/anarkali style…u know what really sucks is that most outfits cost so much money because of hte extra fabric and u cant’e ven get some of them stitched as a regular kameez
LOL Ammi just brought me a really baggy one back, and I was like, “everyone is going to think I am trying to hide the baby weight I haven’t lost!”. But I did get lots of compliments when I wore it – but I wore it with the churidaar. I think wearing those huge shirts with the big pants looks too much, especially on us petites.
Same here, I hate those tents...I mean yes it is in fashion but what kind of freaking fashion is this, so unflattering, and no disrespect but have seen few petite woman waering those and they were drowned in the sea of fabric.
I also like knee or slightly longer flattering cut qameez...
They look horrible on most people (including me), unless you are tall with the whole model-sque way of carrying clothes, they look fine. But most people end up looking so *jhale *and out of place.
